Wheelchair
Audley Harrison returned to Britain this week ahead of his World Heavyweight title fight with David Haye – and has been met with a wave of public support ahead of their grudge match. Harrison has set up camp in Haye’s backyard of south London before moving up to Manchester ahead of the November 13 clash at the M.E.N Arena and the southpaw says he’s been inundated with supporters as his date with destiny draws closer. “I am overwhelmed by the support I have received from the British public,” said Harrison. “Through my Twitter page, Facebook and at AudleyHarrison.com, I have received thousands of messages of support and I am grateful that people are following my story and wishing me success.” “The majority of people understand my struggles and respect my determination and perseverance to overcome the odds and achieve my goals. As the fight draws close, David will be surprised to know that the British public are turning against him and I’ll be satisfying their wishes by defeating him and bringing his ego back down to Earth. “It’s going to be tough, but I wouldn’t want it any other way – YES I CAN!” After a gruelling high-altitude training schedule in Big Bear Mountain, California, Harrison landed at Heathrow on the day of his 39th birthday and according to his promoter Eddie Hearn, the challenger has been boosted by the reception he has received. “It’s heart-warming to see Audley finally getting some support from the British public, after all he is just a guy from the street chasing a dream,” said Hearn. “He has shown unbreakable British spirit in never giving up and we all know the public love an underdog. Haye has said some pretty disgusting things over the recent weeks and unlike Audley, he seems to be in the game for all the wrong reasons.” http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/audley-overwhelmed-by-support-64715#more-64715

donlevy
Poor Audley, doesn't realize any support for him is based on a dislike towards Haye and his actions over the last year.

Joe Ko
I have always been a Audley fan and he does have fans just so much more haters. However I have said since this fight was annouced Haye wins in 1 round, Had money on that for 2 months over £50 on Haye not all on one round but some on rounds 1-3 and 1-6 just so I will definetly get a return. The_budweiser
i think haye round 3 by ko , but hes getting more fans as the real boxing fans know whats going on, hes avoiding the klits long as possible letting them get older and slower/weaker, and in mean time taking easy pay days. hayes ranting mouth has let him down, i remember guys saying hes a breath of fresh air to the heavyweight division, same guys have went off him now as hes bottled it

Haye was earning maybe 1-2 mill for Crusier fights and now after Sky snapped him up he is making 8 figures. I am a hardcore fan but understand its his way of making a living has recently been doing well not fighting Klitschkos. The Klitschko fight will happen 2011 and Wlad isnt looking like declining and Vitali is but still a force and can still seeing Haye doing a job on them, if he does beat them I wouldnt be suprised if he was P4P top 5. Skav
Harrison is being supported for this fight but only by the hardcore fans who want to see him embarrass Haye. Harrison should enjoy that small scale support while he can.
davemurphy
It's a strange fight in that often we have the Good Guy vs. Bad Guy scenario, or in Western Movie Terms, the guy in the White Cowboy Hat vs the Guy in the Black Hat, and in this one we seem to have everybody wearing the Black Hat. with the exception of Joe Ko, who seems to be a genuine David Haye Fan, it seems like the rest of you are basing your interest on who you DISLIKE MORE. WelshDevilRob
Excuse me Mr Murphy, The chap in my avatar is there for a good reason. I am a Haye fan. Harrison is disliked cos he made mugs of alot of Brit fans when he turned Pro and was apparently going to take over from Lennox and dominate the division. There were plenty of believers on the old BBC message boards. Quite a few had become boxing fans due to Audley. Seriously though, I think the email brigade have swapped sides. They've gone from begging Haye to KO Harrison to supporting Audley, it seems.
