boxrec
http://static.boxrec.com/wiki/0/06/Ricky_Burns_Belt2.jpgWBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (36-2-1) looks set to rematch Mexican Raymundo Beltran (28-6-1). According to Burns' manager Alex Morrison, the fight is almost agreed and is being pencilled in for February in Glasgow. Burns was considered lucky to scrape a draw against Beltran when the pair met in September. The Coatbridge champions below par performance was down to a broken jaw suffered in the second round. Burns subsequently had an operation to insert a titanium plate inserted, and has returned to training. Alex Morrison told the Daily Mail: "Ricky feels it’s the moral thing to do in giving Beltran another shot. He wants to put the record straight after fighting for 10 rounds with a broken jaw in that first fight. "We want it. Beltran wants it and the fans want it. The deal is done. We’re 99 per cent there with it and are just waiting for the final confirmation which will happen any day now. We’re looking at early February in Glasgow." More...
