davemurphy
Re: Retired two-time World heavyweight champion John Ruiz becomes a MMA and Boxing pr It's a bit bizarre in that most of the fighters who've tried their hand at promoting in the past have been fighters with charisma/dynamic personality. Neither of those describe Ruiz. In fact, our friend Ice Man Scully told me about a party he had once where Ruiz was one of his guests and sat on the living room floor for like six hours and didn't say six words the entire time, and apparently it made everyone at the party kind of uneasy. Is that the guy who's going to sell anybody on a fight by power of persuasion? Probably not.
