Is Danny Garcia being written off against Matthysse?

25-years old and with a 26-0, 16 KOs record. Fights out of Philadelphia and the current WBC and WBA light welterweight champion.

Danny "Swift" Garcia smashed Amir Khan, in 4 rounds, but it seems no one is giving him much chance against Lucas Martin Matthysse, 34-2, 32 KOs.

Has Matthysse been built-up into some kind of monster, by the media and fans, or is he going to be crowned at the MGM Grand on Saturday?

Re: Garcia vows to make Matthysse pay

Garcia talks a lot, but we'll see what happens on fight night.

Personally, I see him backing up plenty, contrerary to his opinion, and Matthysse is relentless in his pressure...and to back this up his accuracy is very very good as well.

Garcia suggesting he will make him miss and then counter him and knock him out - I just don't see it.

Garcia is a reasonable all-round boxer with above-average power and decent speed.

He's better than I thought he was going into the Khan bout, but he's still a class below Matthysse imo.

It might not finish inside the distance, as I suspect Garcia might well have a good chin as well, but I think it will be a comfortable night's work for Lucas.

Re: Is Danny Garcia being written off against Matthysse?

Remember when McGirt put on a master class v Simon Brown? Brown hit like hell but McGirt schooled him. (It was said Brown was weight drained). Tonight i see Garcia boxing real smart and taking Lucas to school-Garcia late or UD for me.

--- Never seen Garcia box smart a single time, in fact being the complete antithesis of ring smarts.

There's an outside chance he can win, but it won't be down to "smarts" that's for sure!

Ha Ha Ha hype job exposed, Golovkin is next. People embrace white fighters despite the fact they have beaten absolutely nobody because they want a great white hope besides the Klits, it's going to end like this for Lomachenko, Golovkin and Kovalev to.

What an absolute nonsense...

"Hype job" who has outclassed almost every other fighter in the division and who gave Garcia everything back and more?

And what has race got to do with anything??

I, like probably most sane people who are fan of Matthysse's, am a fan because of his all action style, which he even gave in defeat, with an eye injury for half the fight...

I can only shake my head at this comment....

Nonsense. Matthysse won that fight. You need to learn to score a fight rather than score for the fighter you want to win.
