brooklynbrawler
Re: Sergei Liakhovich files complaint over illegal Deontay Wilder punch I still haven't watched this fight, as it went pretty much the way I expected... Is there actually anything in his complaint or is it just sour grapes?
gavpowell
Re: Sergei Liakhovich files complaint over illegal Deontay Wilder punch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2-UrjITaSc It's bollocks - he hits him in the side of the head a la Thompson vs Price - there is a certain extent to which the following shot grazes past the back of his head, but Liakhovich is clearly gone by that point. Yeah, this is as lame a protest as they come, it makes Roy Jones' protesting the Danny Greene handwraps look legit by comparison. Good Luck to the Ambulance-chasing Attorney Anthony Cardinale, hope that video of your client convulsing on the canvas doesn't hurt your case.....Jeez, give me a break! Kinda reminded me when Andrew Golata brought a Police man's uniform and began impersonating officers of law on desolate highways at night. This is some bizarre s*** right here. Good Luck to the Ambulance-chasing Attorney Anthony Cardinale, hope that video of your client convulsing on the canvas doesn't hurt your case.....Jeez, give me a break! --- Unless Roy is lying or completely ignorant of handwrap regs in Oz, he has a legit complaint against Green just based on reported circumstances that quickly got buried. Danny Green has had a few dubious bout down there that are notorious for various outrages. Fact is handwrap regulations and their enforcement is one of boxing's best kept dirty little secrets since it goes on behind closed doors with only boxing insiders involved. Every fighter likes his hands wrapped in his or his trainer's "special" way with differing lengths and qualities of gauze, all of which the insiders believe add extra impact or cushioning to each punch depending. That said, don't think Sergey has much of a case since the pic in boxrec shows a nominal rabbit punch behind the ear, the kind routinely ignored because of defensive positionings. It didn't land on the cerebellum which is the fragile source of balance that street muggers always know go for that the rule is meant to protect. It didn't land on the cerebellum which is the fragile source of balance that street muggers always know go for that the rule is meant to protect. If I remember correctly it had to do with the type of gauze and/or tape that was used. Roy's camp came up with pictures of the box that it came in, saying that they'd pulled it out of trash in Green's dressing room, and it too much elastic in it (according to the box's breakdown of contents). It sounded like sour grapes and I never heard anything more about it, so I assumed they just dropped the protest......they got the Hopkins rematch DESPITE the Green KO, which I think is all they were wanted to do. Remember when he couldn't return home to his native Poland because he'd thrown some guy into a trash dumpster outside a Bar? Never a dull moment with Andrew Golota
