Stefy Bullish Ahead of Curtis Woodhouse Showdown

Stefy Bull, 33, takes on Driffield’s Curtis Woodhouse at the Doncaster Dome on the 2nd of July and the 29-6-1 (7) southpaw revealed that some online banter helped him decide to take this job on relatively short notice after Woodhouse, 13-1 (8), questioned Bull’s punch power in the wake of Stefy’s KO win over Dean Hickman in May.

“He said he was very surprised that I had beaten Dean Hickman”, remarked Bull when speaking to The Star, “who I stopped in the second to win the English Masters Lightweight title last month, in such fashion because I can't knock the skin off a rice pudding.

“Curtis is entitled to his opinion, but I've always said that I'm a bigger puncher than my record suggests. I've stopped two of my last three opponents and two of those fights were title fights. I'm 33 and have been boxing since I was 18. I honestly believe that I'm in the form of my life.”

Woodhouse is also in a great run of form, he has regrouped well since losing his ‘0’ to Jay Morris in Belfast last May and has recently scored impressive stoppage wins over Morris and Maurycy Gojko; the Dave Coldwell-trained fighter is becoming more boxer than footballer – Curtis was a full-time professional footballer before taking up the gloves – and has his sights firmly set on the British 140lb title.

“I've watched his last two fights at the Magna Centre and he's definitely an improved fighter. He's entitled to call himself a fighter now after 13 fights, whereas before he was just an ex-footballer,” admitted Bull when speaking about Woodhouse’s progress.

We both are in agreement that Bull will get stopped when the pair meet.
