Chisora sets his sights on Sexton

Having freshly acquired the British Heavyweight title Derek Chisora has set his sights on Commonwealth champion Sam Sexton.

Chisora picked up the Lonsdale belt on the under card of Kevin Mitchell’s failed interim title attempt against Michael Katsidis when he stopped the now retired Danny Williams in 2 rounds and is now again looking at Sexton.

The two fought 2 years ago and Chisora ran out the winner in the 6 round and Chisora is confident he can repeat the result,

“I said when I beat Williams that I would fight anyone in Britain, and that includes Sexton, I’ve beaten him once and I’ll beat him again if I have to fight him. He’s a nice guy but can he take my power? I think we saw the last time we fought that he can’t. I’ll respect him if he gets in the ring with me, but it’s the same result if we have a rematch. In fact, this time I think I’ll knock him clean out rather than just stopping him. Everyone keeps talking about how much Sexton has improved in the last couple of years, but what about me? I’m a championship fighter now and I’m ready for championship fights. Sam got to fight for a title before I did, but I’ll end up going further.”
