Hagler was an excessively prideful man about his boxing abilities who could go long stretches being outboxed or otherwise held in check by excellent boxers when a change of tactics was needed. Monzon was an excellent distance boxer who faced much more qualified comp, Griffith 2x, Benvenuti 2x, Valdez 2x, Bennie Briscoe. Napoles.
