Wheelchair
Anthony Mundine has ambitiously declared he's the only man who can beat the world's best pound-for-pound fighter Floyd Mayweather. Mundine, who has won world title belts at middleweight and super middleweight, will fight Jorge Danial Miranda for the WBA International junior middleweight title on June 30 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Miranda (36-8, 13 KOs) hardly looms as a major challenge, particularly if Mundine wants to prepare properly for the sublimely skilled Mayweather, who has recently been campaigning a division down at welterweight. Mundine has reiterated his goal of becoming the first fighter to win world titles in three divisions going down in weight. He was originally scheduled to fight fellow Sydneysider Robert Medley for the IBO light middleweight title last January, but the bout was shifted to middleweight. Reports at the time suggested Mundine was having trouble making the weight, though his team's official line was that it had issues with the IBO. “My main goal and my reborn focus is to fight one man and that man is Floyd Mayweather,'' Mundine said in Brisbane Thursday. “I want to be the best pound-for-pound in the world. I'm really starting to realise my potential, starting to realise what I can achieve, I want to be the best.” “There's only one man who can beat Floyd and that's me. I know that because I fight like him.'' http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,27219442-5009280,00.html
LondonRingRules
Re: Mundine says he is the only man who can defeat Floyd Anthony Mundine has ambitiously declared he's the only man who can beat the world's best pound-for-pound fighter Floyd Mayweather.l -------- What's this, a tiny bit of dribble showing itself? I like to judge fighters on how I fancy my chances against them or how much of a threat they really represent to me. Mundine represents no threat whatsoever, but he is an excellent spokesman for Cowards Anonymous. Maybe he and Floydy can stage a race to see who can run away from his shadow the fastest! WelshDevilRob
The mans living in a fantsay World. His competition has been poor the last few years. I doubt Floyd has heard of him unless 'Money' plays Fight Night 4.

donlevy
Mundine will usually bring up an established, respectable name in boxing to the media and then end up fighting some road sweeper from South America.....He's not be taken seriously. In all fairness to him,he's managed to carve out a half decent career despite a limited amateur career and such a late transition to the sport.but he's spent the last couple of years doing virtually nothing but ripping off those who are foolish enough to purchase his fights on ppv in Australia. Pato
Yeah I agree that mundine is way over his head. Noway that he can beat Floyd. He always seems to talk a little too much. Although it is not unusual to hear comments like this from him.

davemurphy
For someone who "wants to be the Pound for Pound best in the World", Mundine's done a hell of a job of disguising it for all these years with his opponent choices :)
