Briggs Destroys Calloway

 

 

Former WBO heavyweight champ Shannon Briggs, 51-5-(45), proved far too heavy handed for the uselful cruiserweight Rob Calloway at the at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia Friday.

 

The Former WBO heavyweight champ took just 98 seconds to destroy Calloway, 70-12-2-(57). Briggs floored Calloway three times before the bout was waved off. Calloway is normally a very durable foe but the heavy handed Briggs pretty much walked through him.

 

On the cruiserweight Adam Seal, 8-1-(7), scored a fifth round tko win over the heavily favoured Daniel Judah. The bout was waved off after 2.40.

I wonder how long it will be before Briggs is served up as a sacrificial lamb to one of the champs at heavyweight?

Its his 2nd 1st round Ko in a week. Also his comeback fight was over in a round. Calloway who built his record up feasting on nobodies at least had some pedigree.

 

Briggs is a colourful character and he does hit hard. Plus US Heavyweight Boxing is poor right now - possibly the poorest its been in history. If Briggs is serious about winning a title then he'll need to step the competition up.

Yeah, Audley broke his jaw back in '03.

Calloway had a 2 fight series with Chagaev. Then fought Audley I think.
