Wheelchair
“The Mouth that Roared” is the affectionate name given to Paulie Malignaggi by his manager Lou DiBella. Quite the contrary, Malignaggi is a throwback to 1980’s pro wrestling mixed with a little Jersey Shore. Maybe the fist pumping during parties has contributed to his amateurish knockout ability. Five knockouts in 31 fights is about the worst you will see during a world title fight. Malignaggi had the following to say before he was destroyed by Amir Khan; “It’s my city. When his head’s snapping back with blistering combinations, the crowd will love it”. I wonder how Paulie felt walking to the ring, the fight was not even staged in the biggest room of Madison Square Garden. It was held in front of a small crowd in the theater of the building. As if Malignaggi selling only 4,412 tickets in his own city was not bad enough, it was quickly apparent around half that number had travelled across the world to see Khan, a more humble and superior fighter. What would Malignaggi draw to a fight outside “his city”? Many people compare the mouth of Malignaggi to Mayweather. Such a silly comparison is far from reality, and disrespectful to a great fighter like Mayweather. While Malignaggi fights on free HBO shows, drawing 2,000 fans in his own backyard, Mayweather will draw over 1 million pay per view buys regardless of opponent. Some viewers will want to witness greatness, and some will tune in to see Mayweather beaten, should it ever happen it will be a significant event in the sport. Who would do that for Paulie? Half the people expect him to lose when he fights top rate opposition, and they are usually right. Malignaggi may have been humble after Khan had beaten some respect into him but watch footage of his win over Diaz. He starts yelling at the TV announcers that he is winning and generally acting like an idiot, someone over excited by winning. Truly great fighters do not act like that. Malignaggi also seems geographically confused, he criticized Khan and “coddled European fighters”. The only issue with that comment is he would apparently like to be one his self. Stars and stripes were nowhere to be seen as the proud Italian Stallion strutted around before the fight sporting numerous versions of Italian flag paraphernalia. What continent is Italy on Paulie? Surely this is the end? The slick jab was lauded before fights with Hatton and Khan, only for Paulie to resemble a man trying to fend off a pit bull with a bread stick during the fight. He may fight again, but if he does...who will care? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/393697-paulie-malignaggi-the-mouth-that-bored?

Storm25
funny stuff. Can't really blame a boxer for not being the sharpest tool in the box though. Remember the comments from so called 'smart' Hopkins in reference to the Green-Jones knock out in order to justify their rematch?
