The_budweiser
Kell Brook withdraws from bout with Michael Jennings Sheffield prospect Kell Brook has withdrawn from a proposed fight with Michael Jennings for a second time after suffering a rib injury. The pair were due to meet on 3 July, but Jennings will now challenge John O'Donnell for the vacant British welterweight title in Preston instead. Chorley's Jennings, 32, last held the Lonsdale Belt in January 2006, when he was beaten by Young Mutley. Jennings could now meet Sheffield's Brook in September instead. "It's one of those things, that's boxing. The public want me to fight Kell and I said yes to it straight away. I'll box anyone," said Jennings, who has 36 wins from 38 fights. "I'm thrilled fighting John for the British title in Preston so I'm not going to lose any sleep about not boxing Kell. "This where I want to be. It's all right doing eight and 10-rounders, but I want a title fight. "I want to win the British title, defend it, win it outright and hopefully push on again. Eventually I will fight Kell. When it happens, it happens." Jennings was stopped in five rounds when he challenged Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title last February but has won twice since. O'Donnell, 24, has 23 wins from 24 fights, his only defeat coming against Christian Salano in Las Vegas in 2007. He had won eight straight since that reverse, winning the Commonwealth title with a split decision win over Craig Watson and defending it against Tom Glover. brooklynbrawler
Brook looked a real prospect about 2 years ago, and I had high hopes for the guy, but he has done very little since he beat Kevin McIntyre, and his career is stagnating a bit for me... He has only had 3 fights in 2 years other than McIntyre, none of which were noteworthy, and for a young guy who should be building his profile and taking some meaningful fights, he's kind of missing the point now! Totally disagree with you there Brook has just turned 24 yrs old has won all his 24 fights, just won the WBO Inter-continental welterweight title which was a WBO welterweight title eliminator and won a lonsdale belt over the last two years, yes he has had a couple of minor injury setbacks but so do other boxers. So i cant see why the rush, this lad will be a world champion

He should be 6-12 months behind Aydin (the Turk) not 24-36 months
