Home boxers win at Kemi

Promoter Lasse Tapio in co-operation with Caramelito Promotions organized outdoor show at harbour of Kemi in Northern Finland on this Saturday. The show contained 6 amateur fights and 3 professional matches. Caramelito Promotions´ reigning Finnish and BBU heavyweight champion Janne Katajisto beat Hungarian -better than his record- journeyman Sandor Balogh by points. The sole card by referee Santeri Kanninen was 40-38 in favour of Katajisto. With victory Katajisto improved to 15-1-1, 7 KO and is looking for another shot at abroad. In light welterweight bout Sami Haapala who is based on Kemi, was making his pro debut. Haapala was fighting last time on March 2009, but now he outboxed Hungarian import Csaba Stir who made his second pro fight. The sole card was 40-36 in favour of home town hero. In cruiserweight division KO artist Janne Forsman who is also reigning Finnish and BBU cruiserweight champion needed 4 rounds to stop experienced Hungarian Viktor Szalai. Szalai who is fighting southpaw is 12cm taller than Forsman, but Finnish boxer was all time the aggressor in the ring. Forsman floored once his opponent on the third with body shot and in the fourth by uppercut.
