woola4
By Ernest Gabion BoxingScene.com was advised by manager Luis DeCubas Jr. that Joel Casamayor will indeed face Joan Guzman on the HBO pay-per-view undercard to the rematch between Juan Manuel Marquez and Juan Diaz, scheduled to take place on July 31 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The former champions are meeting in a very important crossroads battle, likely to take place at the junior welterweight limit of 140-pounds. "We are going to take his '0'," - a confident DeCubas told BoxingScene.com. BoxingScene.com
grapevine241
even though guzman is a fat slob, ive actually wanted to see this fight for a while now. casamayor has been pretty inactive and is untested at this level at 140. im not sure who to pick in this one

davemurphy
If they finalize the addition of Sergio Mora-Macklin, and keep the price reasonable, then this isn't a bad card/ppv buy. None of the fights is an outstanding main event by PPV standard (or I guess I should say by what I USED to think of as a PPV standard....lol) but in combination together, it's decent. Now watch them want $55 :)

gavpowell
What weight will Guzman come in at I wonder? You're in for a treat wiith this one, for I can reveal it is Joan Guzman's lifelong ambition to be the first man in boxing history to pass through every single weight class within the scope of a single weigh-in. now do you see why Lee Beard's on board? LondonRingRules
What weight will Guzman come in at I wonder? ------- Guzman can't even make jr welt any more without endangering his health. Casa is a huge guy himself and a top pro as far as weight issues go, but he's slower than mollasses and getting up in age. Even an overweight Guzman can run his wheels off and pop him to death. Don't understand why GB won't put Guzzy in with the welts for a big bout. It's a weight he can make and he's good enough to beat anyone on his day. Most of the major ones have been running $49.95 or $44.95 here, occasionaly $34.95 and for things like the questionable stuff like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. or occasionally even $29.95. I think at $34.95 this one would do quite well.
Wheelchair
Converting makes that £30 a pop here for your most expensive PPV. That's alot of cash to spend on watching the TV!

grapevine241
ill probably be getting this one as im a big fan of JMM, and also a fan of casamayor and diaz. id like to see what the rest of the card looks like though. also this being a real HBO PPV helps sway me
brooklynbrawler
I can't stand Guzman, and I am looking forward to him facing the fighter who will knock him the hell out. Unfortunately an over the hill Casamayor is not the guy to do it though. He was lucky to come through the Katsidis fight in the end, and father time has definitely caught up with him. He's not done enough of late and at an unfamiliar weight, he's not going to trouble Guzman (even though he's in the same boat). Joan is totally over-rated in my opinion, and has been taking the piss across plenty of divisions and messing a number of opponents about in the process, never mind the fans, and ended up taking a couple of gifts to keep his unbeaten record. If he'd bothered dedicating himself, things might have been different, but I suspect that he would have eventually had to face someone who genuinely is at the top level, and would have lost his '0' a few years ago now. Not paying for the PPV Faulks- It's expensive, but what gets me is not that they charge $50 for a top line fights among the elite, but that they'll have the gall to charge $35 for junk like this Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. title defense: http://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/05/vazquez-jr-makes-1st-title-defense-vs-bedak-on-may-29-ppv/
