WelshDevilRob
Malignaggi Ready To Punish "Pervert, Peeping Tom" Khan By Mark Vester Paulie Malignaggi is back again with some verbal bombs for WBA champion Amir Khan. Khan makes his American debut next Saturday against Malignaggi in New York's Madison Square Garden. Malignaggi is taking a few digs at Khan over the recent sex scandal being reported in several media outlets. Los Angeles model, Leanne Crow, claims Khan sent her dirty text messages and several photos where he exposed himself. Malignaggi has been on a rampage since Khan's trainer Freddie Roach predicted a knockout win within three rounds. "I was being nice these past few days to Amir Khan, but tell that Peeping Tom, [that] as soon as he steps into the ring - he better prepare for more then three rounds, because it's going to be a long nightmare. And he might not wake up," Malignaggi said. "I tried to be Mr. Nice Guy and respect Amir Khan and his perverted ways. But that is now out the window, like when round four comes and he hasn't knocked me out. Tell that pervert Amir Khan, to stick to sending photos to models, because this boxing game is a real sport." TheBigTodd
Im really looking forward to this fight, I think it will be very interesting. I dont like PM, he comes over like a whiny little girl, and that time he had to get his hair cut during a fight i mean come on had he not thought they would fly about a bit! Im not the biggest Khan fan either I have to say but i prefer him as a boxer, plus a win would be good for UK boxing and I have to say I want to see PM getting properly stopped just to hear what he has to say after! That said I'll find it very funny if Khan gets stopped by someone as light a puncher as Paulie!
WelshDevilRob
Its really a match-up I'm looking forward to and its live on free television here in the UK - and as I don't have cable now or Satellite, its a rare opportunity to watch boxing on my TV. I think Malignaggi has the handspeed to land counters on Khans chin and while Paulie has no power neither did Willie Limond.
TheBigTodd
while Paulie has no power neither did Willie Limond. Limond's KO% is higher :) and we cant even use the different class of opponent theory here as its been so long (7 years) since PM stopped anyone. I know ever boxer does actualy punch pretty hard, but still, if Khan cant walk through all of his shots then he is on real bother in his next few fights now he has reached this level. I'm more than likely wrong with this fight but while Limond kept trying to time his counter shot, which paid off the onetime for the dubious long count, I think Malignaggi is technically better than Limond and will catch Khan from different angles. I think Paulie shook up Juan Diaz abit and I'm rating Khans chin alot lower. But I'm in the minority, as is often the case. mlol/
davemurphy
I've never been a big fan of either fighter, but I think Paulie certainly annoys me more :) If Malinaggi scores a knockout then Khan should certainly retire because that would mean at least half the JWW's he were to face at this level would do the same. Paul Malinaggi couldn't break a balloon is he was holding onto a hammer.......I could never figure out how he suffers so many hand injuries hitting has lightly as he does. I have a sneaky feeling that this won't be an easy fight for Khan. I can see Paulie getting into a rythym and tying Khan up in knots. Paulie may not have much a of a punch, but Khan doesn't have much of a chin. If Malignaggi lands flush, it WILL trouble Amir.
Skav
The last few posts explain why I like this fight. I know people have slagged it off as a mismatch in Khan's favour but he is still a novice who hasn't fought anybody with top world class experience and Paulie has fought the likes of Cotto and Hatton so I think he will be a good learning curve for Amir and a legitimate threat, given the poor strength of his chin. grapevine241
i think khan will end up winning a decision, but i hope paulie knocks him out that would be too funny
SeelowHeights
I can't see beyond a mismatch as Paulie can't do anything as well as Khan (slower, shorter, less reach and less power), and experience counts for little as every time he has faced world-class fighters, he has lost. Although if Khan really has done such a thing with regards to the pervert stuff it's yet another black mark on the copybook as well as the driving incidents...(not to mention all his shite in press) and he will justifiably alienate even more UK boxing fans. ITV have got the wrong fight. This is going to be boring. They should have got Mitchell / Katsidis on terrestrial instead as that one probably will be mayhem. Sheils
Could go either way. Khan could go down if hit correctly, though his technical boxing ability should give him the edge. Not too sure if I would say sending SMS to a model (who probably led him on) made Khan some sort of sex offender, maybe Paulie is trying the Haye tactics. Kimmy
Khan wins by TKO something like the 7th or 8th round. Not that I rate Amir or anything but its got that kinda a feel to it. That Paulie is being used as a garanteed win for Amir to try and project him into something he´s not. Much Like the Barrera fight.

Wheelchair
There are some shots of the fighter with the most talked about chin since Jimmy Hill here....... http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/amir-khan-workout-45503
donlevy
Not saying Khan has a good chin, but has been hurt since he moved up to JWW? Kotelnik is hardly a puncher, but I thought he got in quite a few solid punches that probaby would have put Khan down a year or two prior to that. That Paulie is being used as a garanteed win for Amir to try and project him into something he´s not. Much Like the Barrera fight. Paulie, for all his faults (boring to watch and zero power) does take a pretty good punch, only Hatton's been able to stop him and he took a lot of punishment from a Cotto that was probably at his peak. I'd be really impressed if Khan were able to actually stop him. I do agree with Kimmy that that's the plan, to "use" Malinaggi. I just don't know that he's reached the point that Barerra had, but do beleive the Diaz fights were more about Diaz sliding. I think Malinaggi is going to have problems because this is going to be the first time he's faced a guy who's FASTER than he is (IMO). I anticipate a pts win for Khan, but we've seen this in the past were two boxer types get together in what you THINK is going to be scientific or simply a track meet, and the two guys end up going to War. I HOPE that is the case.
