Laredo, Texas - The Baby Bull is coming to town.

Juan 'El Torito' Diaz, a former WBA, WBO, IBF world lightweight champion from Houston, will take on big punching Adailton DeJesus of Brazil on Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate boxing card at the Laredo Energy Center on Saturday, August 17.

The main event is scheduled for 10 rounds. Diaz has a record of 36-4 with 18 knockouts. DeJesus is 30-7, with 24 knockouts.

Diaz was a world champion from 2004-2008, which included a total of 11 title bouts. He first won the WBO title in 2004, made seven successful defenses, then won the WBO crown in April, 2007, and the IBF title in October, 2007.

Diaz, 29, took three years off and made his comeback in April in a six-round stoppage against Pipino Cuevas, Jr.

U.S. Olympian Jose Ramirez will also be featured on the card against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.

Diaz attacked Cuevas Jr. early, backing him up and then unleashed an eight-punch combination that rocked Cuevas Jr, causing the referee to stop the fight.

Top Rank announced there will be eight bouts on the big card. The Solo Boxeo Tecate card will be televised nationally on the UniMas network.

VIP Tables seating 10 will be available at $750, $500. Reserved seating is $35, $20 and $10.
