MilbertMcFlab
Milbert's Mayweather / Mosley weigh-in review Thanks to ESPN and the magic of the internerd, we have all the inside info from our man in Las Vegas: After the smooth-as-razor-wire tones of the announcing wench, Tommy Hearns appeared on stage at the weigh-in, doing some schtick. Mike Buffer claims he's 6'7" - surely not. Calzaghe there on the stage and looking happy enough. Also in town for the fighat are Marques and MAB, as well as Ricky Hatton. Ricky must be heavier than Joe. 'little over the fighting weight' says Mr Buffer - class! All the American-style razzmatazz you'd expect. The crowd are 40/60 for Mosley in the 'shout for the winner' bit. The Junior Middleweight boxers on the undercard for their 10 rounder, showing before the main event arrive first. Jose Miguel Cotto comes in at 149lbs. Undefeated Saul Alvarez is 150lbs. Both look relaxed and in good shape, Alvarez looking slightly better than Cotto (but that could just be the video quality on the stream). Alvarez is the taller man. Cotto's team make him break the stare down after only a couple of seconds... Out come the main event lads. Mosley is chilled out and smiling, lots of applause. Mayweather looking mean and a little tighter than Shane. Mosley has been in the gym for sure and scales in at 147. Floyd at 146 and looks in shape too. Mosley is the bigger man, Mosley breaks the stare down first. See you at the fight! Milbert
Wheelchair
Thanks for that Milbert! deal//
Andre00
I think Mosley is more comfortable because he has nothing to lose, but Floyd has more on his mind, because he has to maintain that "0" and make sure he wins to have that edge over Manny P. But i think he known how to deal with that and will remain focus and do what floyd does.
MilbertMcFlab
3 and a bit things you didn't know about the undercard 1) Alvarez on the undercard is known by the nickname 'El Canelo'. My Mexican isn't great, but I think that translates as 'The Cinnamon-coloured one'. Expect to hear the commentators refer to him in that way in the fight never. 2) Cotto's real family name is Vázquez and Alvarez last name is actually Barragán. 3) Alvarez also known as 'Especia del Jengibre' - 'Ginger Spice'! Expect Milbert to only refer to him as that from now on. For those of you who prefer your boxers by the stone, or measured as the French would, the weights* are as follows: Cotto - 149 lbs / 10st 9lbs / 67.6kg Ginger Spice - 150 lbs / 10st 10lbs / 68kg * of course, we all know (thanks to our basic grasp of physics) that we shouldn't really care about the weight of the boxer, so much as their mass. If these two chaps had their bout on the moon, they would weigh a lot less but there would still be just as much of them as there is now. In fact, I'm going to start a campaign to rectify this gear-grinding misuse of the term 'weight'. Who's with me? Expect my next pre-fight review to describe the boxers appearing at a mass in... WelshDevilRob
Thanks Milbert. Sounds like all the stars of boxing are there for the big fight. Really looking forward to seeing Alvarez fight again - seems a very talented fighter. DeLeon vs Lock should be a decent fight aswell.
