NEW YORK (January 23, 2013) -- Undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) middleweight champion Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin (28-0, 20 KOs) goes from the hunter to the hunted February 9 when he makes his first title defense against No. 10-rated challenger Fernando Guerrero (25-1, 19 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Quillin-Guerrero is the 12-round co-feature on Showtime Championship Boxing, which is headlined by the World Boxing Association Super (WBA)/World Boxing Council (WBC) light welterweight championship match between Danny Garcia and Zab Judah. Fighting at home in Brooklyn for his second straight fight, Quillin is coming off a sensational world title-winning performance against previously undefeated WBO title-holder Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, who Quillin dropped six times en route to victory by way of a 12-round decision (115-107, 115-107, 115-107). "I train to destroy anybody in the ring with me," Quillin commented. "I steadily moved up the ladder and won the WBO title in one of the Fights of the Year. Really looking forward to this one. I think Guerrero can win it. Quillin is good but maybe the N'dam win, was abit too flattering as he was losing rounds but the seemingly shaky chin of N'dam kept letting him down.

I agree, Rob, there's a certain type of fighter that's going to give Quillin fits and with a good chin then N'dam would've been trouble. It doesn't take much imagination to see Guererro enjoying some success in the spoiler role, I'm still not fully sold on Kid Chocolate as a bonafide world champion.

Not many are sold on him Dave which kinda surprises me, the kid can hit and boxes well!

Guerrero is one of my fav new fighters, prospects.:thumb: He has the skills and the strength to make it a good, tough fight and beat Quillin. It remains to be seen wether he will. He CAN do it. Just hope it doesn't go like in the Brewer fight. I'd like to see this kid make it far. He strikes me as a sympathetic fellow, which is more than I can say for Quillin.

I agree, but he'll have a chance to change all that in less than hour tonight. Win or look good in defeat and everybody's instantly sold.
