Former WBA light-welterweight champion Marcos Maidana has again expressed his desire to rematch Amir Khan, this time on social networking website, Twitter.Marcos said: "We [Khan] say it’s unfinished business. Let’s finish it April 20th…he owes me a rematch. He has a date April 20. We all know Khan WONT give me the rematch. But I just have some fun making him uncomfortable…Please dont ppl start saying weight is an obstacle for Khan to rematch me. He said today he’d fight Ortiz and Senchenko, who are welters..he owes me a rematch. since he’s looking for a foe I’m ready for April.”Maidana looked unimpressive against Devon Alexander in their ten round fight at welterweight but on the flipside, impressed many with his destruction of Jesus Karass in September last year. Maidana ended 2012 with a fight in his native Argentina, knocking out Angel Martinez in three. Before their classic 2010 encounter, Maidana had to do everything he could to force Amir into the ring with him, even going as far as writing a letter to the WBA in September of that year to persuade them to make the fight. Khan won by a points decision but...

I don't blame him looking for the rematch. The 1st fight was entertaining and a good ride.

Have read that he is going to replace Shane Mosley, as Paulie Malignaggi's next opponent. Hope, that fight comes off as will be interesting to see whose style wins the fight - brawler or boxer.

No interest in this at all.

Other than 30 secs of success in the 10th round, which admittedly had Khan hanging on for dear life, Maidana go his arse handed to him.

You dont get rematches after having rings boxed around you for 11 rounds 2mins and 30 secs.

Amir won't take the Maidana option, he needs to be making fights that matter and unfortunately for Marcos he doesn't really anymore, a win for Amir does nothing to push him back towards a world title!

I think thats a fight that everyone would want. Surely, the promoters must realise that it would be a huge sell-out in Argentina?

Undoubtedly they do rob, but maybe it's not an option either fighter wants to pursue

What we used to call a Promoter back in the good old days would realize it, but these current day promoters have a strange way of doing things and often the best $$$ doesn't dictate their moves..........nor are those moves sometimes easy to understand. My guess is that they're going to screw around and put it off until Matthysee-Maidana isn't even important to the folks back in Argentina because one (or both) are so shot that it's rendered irrelevant.

Re: Maidana expresses his desire to rematch Khan

Still want to see Maidana v Matthysse more than any other match up involving either of them

---- Need to be more realistic. Different weight classes now, and only 2 years ago Maidana came within a hair of landing the Floydy fight. He's three fights in the welt class and promoting the Khan fight if and when he moves up to welter, that's all. Now he looks to be a lock up for Malignaggi who's given the OK for that fight, a fight Maidana could win a belt in and be in the big bucks brigade with more choices.

Keep it real........

Fuck me I forgot that fighters weren't allowed to move weight divisions at a whim now a days! Damn I must have taken too many of those Marquez like right hands and ended up with a serious concussion!

Came with in a hair of the Floyd fight? Oh really? When exactly was that?....

Doesn't seem like Malignaggi has any idea who he's fighting at the moment

Heck you want realism...I think a fighter moving 1 division to face his biggest domestic rival from the amateur (don't forget they fought 4 times there) is more than realistic.

---- How quickly we forget that Magic and Maidana were given serious inquiries by Floydy before his tax problems forced him into the Mosley fight.

And, no, it ain't hardly in Maidana's promotional interests to go back down when he's clearly been giving marching orders to groom for 147. If LM wants to move up, that's another promotional matter. I'm just giving you the tweet skinny between Maidana and Malignaggi that everyone and their mum already knows, they want the fight, it's up to big shots to make it so, not the fighters.
