Faulks
By Craig Watt In the Sunday Times in Australia over the weekend Justin Manolikos of Green Machine Promotions responded to accusations of illegal handwraps in the letter issues by Square Ring Promotions last week. Whilst IBO Champion Danny Green was involved in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race to raise money for charity, his long time friend and manager stated, “Coming from a steroids cheat this is a cheap shot. Danny has had his hands wrapped in this way for many years, including in the USA under their jurisdiction. He boxed there in August and there wasn’t any complaints there in August.” The Green camp are incensed with the allegations, especially after the handwraps were approved by the governing News South Wales Sports Combat Authority prior to the fight in which the Australian stopped Roy Jones Jr in 122 seconds. Meanwhile it appears that a proposed fight between Bernard Hopkins and Danny Green is running aground after it has been reported in Australia that after agreeing in principle a 50-50 revenue split for the proposed bout in 2010 that Hopkins camp have now asked for this to be re-negotiated 60-40 in favour of the American. McBride
Aussies are known for their straight talking though aren't they? Sorry and all that, but being a " legend " doesn't make you any less guilty. Both Jones and Hall tested positive after their fight, and it was swept under the carpet at that time because of Jones' status / ranking.
