He then asked for Cotto to weigh in at under his title weight for their fight. Mayweather on the other hand has never asked for any restrictions on an opponents weight, and he's the slimeball. gemmell100
i see floyd winning via late ko. manny will become wreckless and walk onto mayweathers counter punches. if mayweather doesn't ko pacman i can see money winning a wide decision
Faulks
I just cant see Pac wining this fight, or sorry i cant see floyd losing. Manny will look like he's trying to win the fight but Floyd will win on UD, he just wont get hit much. Manny is the most exciting fighter of the few years.. Floyd is the better boxer

Manny will look like he's trying to win the fight but Floyd will win on UD, he just wont get hit much. Manny is the most exciting fighter of the few years.. Floyd is the better boxer I tend to agree with you Ian. Unless Pac has the power to take him out with one shot, he cant win. Mayweather just doesn't get hit with more than one shot at a time. As for all this weight business I blame Oscar. Dont get me wrong i admire Oscar but he should have said to Pacciow, " you weigh what you like I'm weighing 154, it was good enough for Mayweather who could only manage 150 on the night, so its good enough for you." Obviously he was over confident. Pacciow has been getting in the ring at 145 - 148 for years now beating feathers so it wouldn't have hurt him to make 150 for Oscar. It would have saved all this hysteria, and so called fans accepting his advantages as though they are normal. If you cant fight for titles at the proper weight, tough, shit or get off the pot. Post that he decided not to weigh himself for HBO and avoided all their questions regarding weight. At least Pacman is open and honest about the weight. To add I think everyone expects this fight to be at the welterweight limit and not 154.
gemmell100
how do you knw it was he intentionally came in over weight?? he had been out for like 17 months!!
jian85
Well I cant say for sure I dont know the guy...but thats the common belief, wether you choose to believe or not I wont bother going into. Either way if he couldnt make the weight Marquez shoulda called off the fight but he was probably persuaded by the money...cant blame the guy for $600k. jian85
No doubt in my mind Mayweather wins that fight at any weight. I'm not an one eyed supporter either. Pacman and Mayweather will be a great fight and it'd be hard to pick a winner. Early odds of Mayweather being the favourite is justified IMO. I just want to see a fight that is fair on all terms i.e. weight and 50% split of the money. Should be a great fight.

Either that or you have got the wrong end of the stick completely. What Mayweather did, or didn't weigh for the Marquez fight is not worth a cup of cold piss. He DIDN'T put any stipulations on what Marquez could weigh. Pacciow wants his OPPONENTS to weigh whatever suits him, not them. He got away with it with Oscar, because he was overconfident. He got away with it with Cotto, because of the money. He wont get anything for nothing from Mayweather, and you can take that to the bank. By the way I'm glad Mayweather paid the fine / penalty for coming in over the agreed CATCHWEIGHT. Hopefully it will teach Arum and Pacciow a lesson in as much as these pathetic X factor type shit shows deserve treating with contempt. Like i said, shit or get off the pot if you dont think you're big enough to fight for a title. Dont be so f***ing arrogant to think that anyone has got to fight at a weight that suits you. I have absolutely no time for a fraudulent wanker like Pacciow.

jian85
LOL McBride why do you intenionally spell his name incorrectly. Its Pacquiao. Marquez was coming up in weight to fight Mayweather not coming down so its not quite the same situation as Pacquiaos opponents. Mayweather on the other hand had to come in at the 145 catch weight and IMO blantently went over and just paid the penalty. Either way its pretty clear both in Mayweather and Pacquiaos case that money talks and opponents will come in at what ever weight if the moneys right. We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this. There is no convincing either way. Looks like a dead issue anyway coz from reports looks like this fight is gonna be at 147 pounds and 8 Oz gloves. McBride
I sincerely hope it is at 147, and Pacciow ( i spell it that way cos its easier ) doesn't try to get some silly Catchweight. I'm only giving an example of the difference. Mayweather went up to fight Oscar for his 154 title, even though he only weighed 150 himself. He didn't ask for Oscar to weigh 152, or even 153, he was quite happy for Oscar to weigh whatever he liked as long as it wasn't over the TITLE limit. Pacciow demanded that Cotto weighed no more than 145 for a title fight in which the 147 belt was on the line. That is fraudulent, and does nothing to encourage new fans to a minority sport, or even please the existing ones. Leonard did it years ago, and now it seems to be Pacciow. You have to wonder how much weight he'd have asked that Foreman kid to cede for his 154 title, if this Mayweather fight hadn't been agreed. I dont want to harp on about the older fighters but when you think that Henry Armstrong was only weighing less than 135 when he was defending his world welter title against full blown welters, it puts all this shit from fighters like Leonard, and Pacciow into perspective.
