leerhodes
Ricky Hatton has given the strongest indication yet that he will return to the ring. Hatton admitted on Wednesday that he is "getting the itch back" having not fought since May. Hatton's future has been unclear since he lost badly to Manny Pacquiao, a defeat that left him horizontal on the canvas for several minutes after the fight. Having gone 10 years without tasting defeat, the Pacquiao loss was Hatton's second humbling experience in the space of two years after he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr, and it was predicted in some quarters that he would not fight again. However, the Manchester-born fighter recently made a guest appearance on WWE Raw, and he admits the roar of the crowd relit the fire inside him. "It was brilliant and I must admit, when I got into the ring and heard the crowd roar, I started thinking to myself 'I've missed this'," Hatton told Sky Sports News. "Who knows? Next year after Christmas and New Year, and after the holiday I've got booked for January, I might have a serious think about what I'm doing. "Seeing [brother] Matthew and all the lads I'm promoting be successful has given me that itch back. "Hearing that roar and seeing my fighters succeed, I might give it another go." Hatton's current record stands at 45 wins, including 32 knock-outs, and two losses.

The Hurricane
As big a fan as I am of Hatton, I think it is time for him to hang the gloves up for good and concentrate on promoting, etc. I would rather see the end of his career with him on his back against one of the future greats instead of losing to mediocre fighters he would have dealt with comfortably a few years ago. Cutting the weight to make 140 again would just be another accident waiting to happen.

Mate i agree entirely with you, im just getting a little bored with the hints, suggests etc. If your coming back come back choose a fighter and get training... I agree retirement is possible the best option as he hardly needs the cash does he

lacollier883
All the nationals turn up to media days at his gym, as they dont want to miss when he announces his next fight, if he confirmed either way the nationals suddenly lose interest, there was not many nationals there last night, all locals and websites alongside Boxing news
WelshDevilRob
Its hard for boxers to retire at the Top and even more so after a devastating defeat. He'll be back.

Unfortunately I think you're right Rob. I'm not keen to see it though, I can still remember the sick feeling I had watching Pac KO Hatton at the MGM. I think its about getting the right opponent for him if he comes back. Similar to Lazcano in that he's expected to win but will give him a work out, so that those around him and Ricky himself can see whats left in the tank. I'd hate to see him jump in against someone like Timothy Bradley, who is a tough fight but even harder if your trying to get those demons out of your head. Unfortunately I can see him going for a fight against Khan at Wembley as it would do mega money. And at this stage I honestly wouldn't be confident of a Hatton win. Funny how things change as 6 months ago I would have laughed at the prospect of Hatton not beating Khan with ease.
Andre00
Well i wouldn`t mind having Hatton vs Cotto/Marquez, not a bad fight to have a few beers over.
