MIAMI (September 11, 2012) -- World Boxing Association Super Bantamweight Champion Guillermo "El Chacal" Rigondeaux is expected to defend his title this Saturday evening against Robert Marroquin (22-1, 15 KOs), on the Sergio Martinez-Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. HBO Pay-Per-View event, live from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rigondeaux's most credible opponent in a long time. And that's not a compliment.

 

I didn't think Rico Ramos was that bad a choice and I suppose I can give him a pass on Bang Bang Casey as it was meant to appeal to a foreign crowd, but I agree that Teon Kennedy was a ESPN-lifer and the guys he fought before meeting Cordoba on the Pac-Margarito card were complete jokes.

Ramos was alright, but Rigondeaux is already rather long in the tooth and the guy is an absolute genius in the ring - he should be tqaxing himself at least a little more with every fight.

 

No question about that, I'm not sure what the deal is with his management, they don't seem to be overly concerned with his turning 32 this month.
