Wilder wants to fight Price

He was quoted in Boxing News as saying it's his time to begin his assault on the Klitschkos, that their time is at an end, but he also wants Fury and Price, partly because "they're even taller than I am!"

The fact the same piece described his "recent win over the hapless Kerston Manswell" suggests how seriously they're taking it too.

He seems like a nice guy but promoters doing a terrible job. 25 fights and not one C level heavyweight or decent journeyman, guys like Zack Page and Firtha.

Really needs to step up.

Lots of big hype behind the big 3. Wilder, Price and Fury but I don't think they are close to being the next big names at heavyweight, all have bad chins.

I've never seen Wilder at all but he hasn't even come close to fighting someone who can hurt him, so how do you know his chin is no good?

In fact, of the three, the only one with a remotely suspect chin is Fury, and his isn't terrible. Mind you, nobody ever got to the top of the heavyweight tree with a dodgy chin, did they?

Wilder was put on his arse by a total journeyman (Harold Sconiers). Whilst yes, Sconiers was dropped 4 times himself he shouldn't be dropping or hurting guys like Wilder.

At heavyweight, almost every fighter has a punchers chance.

It's half the appeal of the weightclass historically, because there was always scope for a shock.

Right enough, plenty "big guys" can't punch for sh*t, but by and large, all of them carry enough size, weight and dig to knock anyone else out if they can land flush.

Spot on.

Very few heavyweights over the years have coped with being hit hard and flush by another heavyweight.

It's the entire appeal of the weight class.

Some cope worse than others, Wlad springs to mind, and some cope a bit better, his brother, but if a real heavyweight catches you square on the jaw with his body weight behind it very few just brush it off.

Ah ok, I looked at boxrec and didn't spot that one - looked like a clean slate all the way.

Have you seen the knockdown? Is it good shot or an off-balance thing?

Both of those two have advanced so far beyond Wilder it's not even funny. He had far less experience in the Ams than they did and certainly this "experience" he's gained as a Pro is almost immeasurable. In just four years time since the last Olympics, I'd say that both Price and Fury are at least two years ahead of Wilder...........thusfar, his career is completely meaningless.

Sadly I've not seen it, have been told he was out on his feet though.
