Matchroom Sport will make a huge announcement for British boxing on August 28 at a media day at their headquarters in Essex.

 

Hearn’s stable of exciting British stars and future talent will assemble in front of the media in Brentwood as they all stand on the cusp of huge fights in their careers.

 

The promoter says that the news will excite the fans as the new season approaches on September 8, where Darren Barker and Tony Bellew headline a massive show at Alexandra Palace in north London, live on Sky Sports.

I suspect the announcement may be on Carl's future opponent?

It's not going to be a Barker vs Macklin bout, seeing Barker is tied up for the moment.

I doubt it has anything to do with Bellew, seeing he has a tough enough time trying to get through Miranda.

We all already know Brook has another eliminator to fight in.

Unless it's another Prizefighter-style announcement or some sort of super-card, there isn't likely to be anything to surprise me.
