The_budweiser
With Amir Khan stating he wants to sign fighters and push forward Khan Promotions, do you think that is because hes losing his money value in UK & USA? He now has 3 defeats on his record (should be 4 (12-14 second Limond KO)) with defeats at the hands of Prescott, Peterson and Garcia. Boxrec has 8 fighters above Khan Juan Manuel Marquez 54(39)-6-1 Danny Garcia 24(15)-0-0 Lamont Peterson 30(15)-1-1 Lucas Martin Matthysse 31(29)-2-0 Brandon Rios 30(22)-0-1 Zab Judah 42(29)-7(3)-0 Mike Alvarado 33(23)-0-0 Can Khan mix it with the above? He surely needs a big name win to push forward another defeat and he will sink fast.
Skav
He can mix it with Peterson and he already beat Judah. Not sure I'd risk him against Matthysse.
Meathead
Is he losing his monetary value? Yes. Thats what loses will do to your career. Especially when they are quite spectacular, or when they are tainted in controversy. HBO had, and maybe still do, very high hopes for Khan though. His team, and until quite recently his promoter as well, have a very good relationship with HBO. It may be that he doesnt get what he wants for his comeback, but he will still earn more than your average HBO fighter. Can he beat the guys above? The Khan from the first couple of rounds against Garcia, or the Khan from Kotelnik, the Khan from Mallignaggi, the Khan from Judah, the Khan from Maidana (until he thought he needed to prove he could take a punch) beats everyone on that list with relative ease bar JMM, who would counter him all night long despite his speed advantage. Even against the guys hes lost to I only see one sided wins for Khan. Garcia was being made to look silly prior to his big punch landing. Prescott has just kept going back and back. Even Peterson I think would be a very different outcome (even though I had him winning anyway). The problem is instilling in him that he doesnt need to prove how hard he is, he just needs to show the world how well he can box. I always say this, and in some cases I can see why people criticize him because lets face it hes a bit of a knob, but he is a much better fighter than hes given credit for. If someone can get him to use his speed and talent and stop stop taking silly risks in range of decent punchers then he can get right back to the top. Getting him to do that though could be a task too big for any trainer. Until that happens, mediocre guys with a punch will always be a danger to Khan.
