The_budweiser
I was listening to LIITR radio and they said the next Olympics will have 1) No point scoring system, 3 judges to score the fight like the pros. 2) No head gear. I'm not sure on the no head gear rule as these fighters are amatuers and many enter the competition as teenagers while fighting seasoned amatuers. The_budweiser
Why should an amatuer fight with no head gear? A lot of these fighters enter the tournament as a teenager 16 17 18 19 and with no head gear would you like to fight a Rigondeaux? A bad loss to a Rigondeaux with no head gear could screw up a young fighter, and stop him coming threw..............

The_budweiser
Olympics with no head gear then they would start to question no head gear with 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 year olds. No head gear opens up to many windows. Its a accident waiting to happen with the young kids.
iamasadlittleboy
The amateur gloves are soft enough as it is. We get some pros debuting at 15-
davemurphy
I love the return to the paper ballots, I wish they'd have rushed that move through and been doing it NOW, but the headgear is a different matter. Sure, guys like Sugar Ray Leonard are more memorable if they're seen facially, but I sure don't want to see the Gold Medal decided by someone not having a very good cutman. Hey, these Chinese fighters rush in and bang heads all the time, if they hadn't had headgear in Bejing four years ago, there wouldn't have been an uncut eye in the house. We saw guys at this years HOF getting their pictures taken with '72 Gold Medalist Sugar Ray Seales, but for anyone who remembers him on the medal platform, you might recall he was bandaged up like Abe Lincoln after the Play was over grin//
