Former WBO Middleweight Champ Paul Williams made his first public appearance following his motorcycle accident last Saturday in Atlanta. He was in great spirits, enjoyed mingling with the fans, OBVIOUSLY enjoyed mixing with the Ring Card Girls as you can see from the Photos, and was a big hit. According to Sergio Martinez, Paul will be his guest when he fights Chavez on Sept 15th, and I'm sure that everyone on hand that night, including Paul, will be better because of it. It feels good seeing him up and around. The bottom two rows of photos are Paul:

Great to see him out and about. Is there any update on his health interms of walking again?

Rob-

It's still up in the air. The good news is that the Spinal Cord isn't severed, but the damage is extensive enough that walking again is unclear. I guess all we can do is wait and hope....

What's America like for wheelchair access? One of my mates is a wheelchair user and she complains the UK is quite far behind a lot of the world in terms of providing lifts and ramps etc, but a lot of our buildings are much older than the ones in the States, so maybe it's easier for you guys to modify?

I'm a wheelchair user and it's brilliant! America is so far ahead of us. I didn't know that the bus ramp had actually been invented by Germans back in the 80's, yet buses here noticeably had them only at the start of the 21st century.

Over here it is a struggle to board trains without assistance but in the US they have platforms that match the height of the trains. Getting around Vegas was a breeze for me. The only problem was that sometimes a lift would be out of order but most of the time they have a spare to go into.

Train accessibility is getting better but it will be another six or so years before they do anything to lines such as the District which is the one I travel on mostly. It is one of the most inaccessible.

I remember Tanni-Grey Thompson effectively got left on a train once because there was nobody to meet here at the station and help wheel her off. Terrible business, considering there are so many places that are effectively off limits to the disabled.
