WelshDevilRob
Lucian Bute next opponent is 12-0 by Rob Day 'Le Tombeur' Lucien Bute (30-1, 24 KOs) will make his comeback, after the crushing defeat to Carl Froch, against unbeaten, powerful, Russian, Denis 'The Pirate' Grachev. Grachev, is 12-0 with 8 KOs and while not having had many fights - he did stop rising Star, Ismayl Sillakh (17-0) in his last fight. Grachev was down in the third but came back to score an eighth round TKO. The Russian fighter also holds a good TKO win over then undefeated, Vladine Biosse. The fight takes place in familiar surroundings for the Romanian/Canadian, Bute at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 03-11-2012. The NABF light heavyweight title will be on the line and could be a signal that Bute doesn't plan to pursue, the mooted, rematch with conqueror, Carl 'The Cobra' Froch. Bute was the long reigning IBF super middleweight champion, winning the title in 2007 with an eleventh round stoppage of Alejandro Berrio and making nine successful defenses before being stopped in five rounds against Froch, in the UK, this year. Grachez is a come forward, flat-footed pressure fighter who carries knock-out power though he is easy to hit and a fighter of Bute's skills should be able to outbox the less experienced man. brooklynbrawler
Decent bout and one he's easily capable of losing. If he does lose, surely this affects his right to take Froch into a rematch immediately?
gavpowell
Grachev looked like a punchbag against Silakh for most of the fight, but was fortunate to smash his way through. I doubt he'll be that lucky again.
WelshDevilRob
Listening to today's Billy C show this morning and the general consensus was that this is a poor match-up.
