WelshDevilRob
No Stamina, No Chin, No Heavyweight. (That's what you said) Well guess who is the new WBA Heavyweight Champion of the World. And he won a decision in Germany. David Haye - and with a broken hand.
lacollier883
Very poor fight. Was disappointed in a way with the fight and the way Haye fought, especially after all the verbals. Saying that the result counts and the tactics were clearly right. I had Haye winning close and if he lost it would have been his own fault But it was funny watching Valuev trying to get near Haye. Valuev looked more fucked chasing Haye than Haye did avoiding him.

Jabandmove
I said on shoutbox, I would like to see the compubox stats because I bet Valuev didn't land a power shot all night.
smarty
To beat such a big awkward guy with a suspected broken hand from round 3 is an amazing achievement IMHO. That said, it wasn't an attractive or entertaining match to watch, but well done Haye.

Haye showed more skill and movement in the ring than all of the major HW's in the division for the last 10 years...That was an accomplished performance by a man who was given no chance and who's power was doubted!! # It was actually a good fight to watch in my opinion...not every bout has to be toe to toe, there is more to the sport than that! The_budweiser
people who said he had no chin, stamina still can debate this . his stamina wasnt tested last night , as his work rate was really poor. his chin wasnt tested as not many clean punches landed in the whole fight. it was a very poor fight last night and not one i enjoyed watching. both fighters workrate was poor and they were in 2nd gear all night long i had valuev by 1 point
mofo2
Ofcourse his stamina was tested he was pressed and moved at pace for the 12 rounds...The chin can still be questioned, but you have to be hit on it for that!!
Brick Top
It was a poor fight to watch imo, but that was hayes best chance of winning. His chin wasn't tested but that's a credit to his performance really. I'm sure held rather question marks remain over his chin because its not getting tested instead of knowing its solid because he's taking flush shots every fight

WelshDevilRob
I agree it wasn't an entertaining fight but Haye did what he had to do. I think his punch output would have been higher if the right hand wasn't injured. Valuev was just too slow too land much, when he did Haye took the shots well. Would like to see Valuev vs one of the Klitschkos as that would be interesting. I thought Haye won though was obviously worried when the decision was being announced but credit to the Germans. The_budweiser
Garry Richardson referees as David Haye reacts to becoming WBA heavyweight champion, Frank Bruno offers his congratulations, and Vitali Klitschko says he will put his WBC world heavyweight title against the 29-year-old Londoner. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8349051.stm
Bear Hugger
I thought it was a boring fight, a carbon copy of the Holyfield fight. But Haye did what he had to against a guy of Valuev's size. I thought Holyfield won their encounter, and by that reasoning, so did Haye. The last round was probably the best, I thought Valuev was gonna go. But Valuev was a poor champion, not even average. Haye's quality as world champion can only be judged when he faces one of the Klitschko brothers. Best quote I've read about the fight... "This is pish, I'm off to watch Audley Harrison's greatest fights on DVD." http://i35.tinypic.com/10zzmso.gif
Mr.Pink
Valuev is to big and to slow to beat any really good fighters like Haye, the Klitschkos or Chagaev. The Fight was Ok. Better than the other fights of Valuev
Cosuir
I thought the fight was ok just, a typical Valuev fight really. I didnt think Haye done enough to win...and in Germany too. Id say the powers that be know that with Haye as champ the HW boxing world will be spiced up and become popular again.. I wonder how Haye would work against any of the Klit bros....im sure we will see soon enough!
Mr.Pink
I dont think so. Haye cant beat the Klitschkos at the moment!!
Matray
it looks like the klits are invincible at the moment but if you ask me who has the better chance to beat one of them now, i'd say it is David Haye!

bigjimmer
Perhaps i'm just cynical, but for a man with a broken hand he didn't struggle to get his glove off as soon as the fight had ended........?
mofo2
Broken hand or not, he was more than comfortable in the fight and definitely did enough to win....Haye fought the perfect plan and would be disciplined enough to beat either of the Very Average Klits!! We have a new champion lets enjoy it for him!
bambi
I thought it was a pretty uneventful fight myself, still I think Haye deserved the win. Good to see someone holding the belt who has some skill as opposed to holding it cause you're just a freak of nature that no-one can get near.
