A big con?

Since saturday night I've had numerous debates with non and casual boxing fans moaning about the Haye/Chisora fight being one big stitch up... based solely on the fact that they kissed and made up in the end.

I'm pretty sure there are easier ways to build up a fight than to involve a glassing, a trainer with a broken jaw, another with a tripod over his head, loss of 2 domestic licenses and putting both fighters future career earnings in such jeapody. If it was a big set up they were either very brave or very stupid!

Does anyone on here actually believe it was a setup all along? Or is it just a simple case of 2 men gaining the respect of one another the good old fashioned way?

I agree, Poztin, if they were going to draw it up in the playbook, it's hard to believe that THIS is what they'd come up with, it's too far-fetched. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, obviously some of it was for show, but I do believe we had legitimate bad blood and they simply gained respect via their time in the Ring. It helps that I've always seen Chisora as kind of playing with half-a- deck of cards even on his best day

Anyone who thinks the brawl in Munich was a set-up has been watching too much WWE.

You don't get broken jaws, cut faces and punches landing the way they did in an act. Some people need to get a grip with reality and stop thinking everything is some kind of hoax/propaganda or hidden agenda.

German Police, BBBoC and even the UK government got involved at different stages - all abit elaborate for a set-up. mlol/

The fight in Munich wasn't a set up, but it led to a golden marketing opportunity. I think the pair would have made up long before they stepped into the ring, probably as a result of a decent pay day heading their way after both coming off title challenge defeats.

What gets me is how fickle the fans are. They were all hating on Haye after his farcical performance against Wlad and the Chisora brawl repaired his damaged rep.

Boxers are ALWAYS only as good as their last fight.

I don't think anyone is impressed with Haye as a "technical boxer".

The Wlad and Valuev fights were terrible to watch and it was so frustrating, because everyone knows he's capable of hurting his opponents and I think he was the only one in the stadium who must have thought he was in the fight against Wlad, because everyone was willing him to step it up and take a chance, but he didn't.

Haye as a puncher and brawler, are great to watch, and he was back to his best against Chisora.

I think he gives the big guys too much respect.
