Finally, we are in fight week for the Big Heavyweight clash at West Ham Football Ground this Saturday, 14th July. There has been a lot of build-up, speculation, rumour, controversy, protest and excitement about this all British clash – so it’s nice to finally be in fight week.

The fight is being overseen by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, with the backing of World governing bodies, the WBA and WBO. Puerto Rican, Luis Pabon will be the referee in charge, of the action.

30,000 tickets have been sold so far and more likely to be sold by fight time. The contest will be live on Boxnation (in the UK), who have done an excellent job in the build-up to this fight.

The hype has built-up, since the press conference brawl in Munich, Germany, after Chisora’s defeat to Vitali Klitschko. The images of the clash were broadcast around the Globe and the fans interest is now, almost, at fever-pitch and come Saturday evening around 9.45PM start time, we shall see who wins this intriguing contest between David ‘Hayemaker’ Haye and ‘Del Boy’ Dereck Chisora.

Both men are coming off a loss to a Klitschko brother and both went the full 12-rounds in their World title fights. Chisora, has officially lost three, of his last four, fights (Fury, Helenius, Klitschko) but all went the full 12-rounds and I, like many others, had him victorious against unbeaten, Robert Helenius, in their fight in Helsinki, Finland.

David Haye, (25-2, 23 KOs) is a former two weight World Champion, having won belts at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight but lost his biggest, and last, fight via a comfortable points loss to Wladimir Klitschko. True, Haye entered the ring with an injured toe, which hampered his performance but he also admits that the best man won, on the night. In many fans eyes, he needs a strong performance this Saturday to redeem himself. It will be one year since that defeat though ring rust is unlikely to play any part in Hayes performance, as he has been used to large gaps between fights.

Dereck Chisora, (15-3, 9 KOs) will enter the ring as the heavier man, while there is little between them in terms of height. Speed, athleticism, power and overall skills favour the Bermondsey man, Haye while Chisora, of Finchley, brings tenacity, a solid chin, dogged determination and unpredictability to the ring and also underrated hand speed.
