The_budweiser Posted February 13, 2012 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Germany's Cagri Ermis reached the, at least so far, highlight of his up-and-down career on Saturday night when he captured the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) World Middleweight title by defeating Portuguese Vitor Sa at the Braamkamp 1 arena in Hamburg. With clever boxing from the outside, Ermis controlled the fight with sharp and well-timed punches from the get-go, and rarely allowed Sa to get close enough to do any damage. The local man fought a very disciplined fight, and while game veteran Sa never stopped trying he was outboxed and outmaneuvered by his younger foe. Ermis was originally to challenge former Champion Karama Nyilawila for the title last December, but first the bout was postponed when the German got injured, and later the title was declared vacant when Nyilawila, overdue a defense, decided not to honor his contract and instead take a non-title bout, so Ermis did well to adjust to his new co-challenger.
