Ledhed1
By Darshan Desai, Uncrowned Queensberry Promotions and Matchroom have been promotional rivals for more than 40 years. But starting in April 2025, they'll promote their events on the same platform. Frank Warren's Queensberry on Sunday announced a landmark multi-year media rights deal with sports broadcaster DAZN. Fight fans will be able to watch Warren's boxing events exclusively on DAZN wherever they are in the world. The deal will activate in 2025 following the conclusion of Queensberry's current contractual relationship with TNT Sports in the UK, which first began in 2016. Queensberry is one of the world's leading boxing promoters and has enjoyed a resurgence in promoting major events since the start of Saudi Arabia's "Riyadh Season" one year ago. This has allowed Warren's company to be involved in some of the biggest fights in the sport, including Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois, and Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol, among others. The British promotional company is now seen as the home of the heavyweight division. They bolster a phenomenal stable in boxing's marquee weight class with the likes of Fury, Dubois, Zhilei Zhang, Joseph Parker, and 19-year-old sensation Moses Itauma — who is regarded by some fans as the future of British boxing — under their banner. Queensberry confirmed that they re-signed Itauma, Anthony Cacace, Nick Ball, Liam Davies, Hamzah Sheeraz, and Sam Noakes to long-term promotional extensions in late October ahead of this groundbreaking move. DAZN markets itself as the "global home of boxing," and its case for doing so just became a little bit stronger. From April 2025 onward, three of the world's six leading boxing promotional companies — Matchroom Boxing, Queensberry Promotions, and Golden Boy — will have exclusive deals with DAZN. In addition, DAZN also has agreements with the crossover promoter Misfits, Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, and Izzy Asif's GBM Sports. In 2024, Queensberry started signing more international talent, fueling rumors that a move like Sunday's was inevitable. Warren revealed his plans to start promoting again in the U.S. to iFL TV in July, which now becomes possible with his DAZN alignment. "I could not be more pleased that Queensberry is joining DAZN." Warren said. "This is a brilliant move for our fighters and, most importantly, for the fans. Their ambition and passion for the sport of boxing aligns perfectly with that of our own and we now look forward to putting on the biggest nights possible together.”
