Cableaddict
I figured this would either be spectacular or a bore-fest. Wallin, despite how much I like him as a fighter, ensured the latter. Not that I can blame him, since Gassiev was once (and may still be) such a destructive war machine. So Wallin played it safe all night with his lousy jab, and threw almost zero power shots with full intent. I'm trying to to understand how he won the decision, even in this most corrupt-of-all sports. At the same time, Gassiev's accuracy has gone into the toilet. Inactivity? Rotator cuff issues? Who knows, but he was having a ton of trouble landing, and Wallin's defense, while good, isn't spectacular. Well, feh. I guess I don't really care. I did have a hope that one of the two would make a massive statement and maybe shake up the division a little, but alas .....
Ledhed1
Second most horrendous decision of the weekend (see the Canelo-Charlo undercard). Gassiev made the fight most of the night. Wallin threw mainly his largely impactless jab. Both desperate to get a notable fight so they agreed to neutral territory. In Russia, Wallin wouldn't have gotten a fair shake. Worked out well for him. Gassiev has been having trouble getting clearance for international travel. What's the upside for steering the decision to Wallin? He's got the marginally more well-known name based on the trouble he gave Fury; a more influential and savvy promoter in Salita. Corrupt decisions have been achieved on less than that. Don't expect either of these guys to make much noise especially coming off a result that leaves a lot to be desired.

Was it close or a complete robbery?

I saw Wallin engaging in a fight largely of avoidance and getting rewarded for it. Gassiev may not have had an abundance of success tracking him down but he was the aggressor. It was a matter of Wallin doing less for me, and I didn't feel a minimalist effort deserved the win.
Cableaddict
^ This. Honestly, it's a fight not worth watching.
