WelshDevilRob
Emanuel Navarrete (37-1, 31 KOs) vs Oscar Valdez (31-1, 23 KOs) for the WBO super-featherweight title. Two Mexicans are going at it, at the Desert Diamond Arena, Glendale, Arizona, USA. It will be Live on SkySports Action (1 am) and ESPN (22:00 PM EST/19:00 PST) this Saturday. Navarrete is coming off a tough win against unheralded Liam Wilson. He's marched threw the super bantamweight and featherweight divisions and is the title holder in this contest. Valdez was undefeated as the WBO featherweight champion. Has moved up but dropped a decision to Shakur Stevenson, after holding the WBC super feather belt. Had a comeback win this year. Good names on both records and they are rarely in a bad fight. Who takes it on Saturday? 1
Ledhed1
Height/reach is advantage Navarrete, but Valdez is sturdier in frame; Navarrete has come up through multiple weight classes while Valdez has been no smaller than featherweight his entire career. Strength of schedule is a slight edge to Valdez. I like Valdez as the more mature fighter. I think he learned a lesson from the Shakur loss. A small home ring advantage to Valdez as well; he's fought several times in Arizona, Navarrete just once. Valdez comes away with the belt for me.

WelshDevilRob
I see it being a War and not going the distance. Have gone for Navarette in the middle rounds. But, wouldn't be shocked if it goes the other way. Tremendous match-up. Unfortunately, I won't stay up for this one. Not in work, so, will be consuming a lot of beers during the Joshua card on DAZN. 🙂 Edited August 11 by WelshDevilRob
LondonRingRules
--- After the fact may make my comments facile, but Navarette is just too big for these guys, and he's getting stronger now that he's not starving. Eventually he go up again and reach a limit, but size with the ability to fight so well with durability thrown in, it's gonna take a while with some lax training to dethrone him. 1
