Kimmy
Timothy Bradley defeated Alexander and became both the WBO/WBC light welter champ. So Morales ( coming off a loss ) is given a fight with a no body and it's set for the vacant WBC title. First off, Morales does not deserve a title match. And isn't it convienant that Morales just happens to get a title match for a title that the current champ would destory him, so make it vacant, match him with Joe Blow and call him a four time champ! Outragous!! He was coming off a loss, against a fighter coming off a loss, and the next fight it's for a title, held by a good fighter, who doesn't get to defend it. I smell a rat, does anyone else see that Morales has been breast fed a title here. The WBC are a joke.
Wheelchair
Why are we even surprised anymore? Unless you're an undisputed champ, or a lineal champ, the belts mean nothing anymore.
iamasadlittleboy
Bradley stripped for inactivity Was supposed to be Morales v Matthyes for title but Lucas got ill and they needed a late replacement, instead the gutsy but limited Cano got the call...and viola. donlevy
All the sanctioning bodies are a joke, with the two oldest(the wbc and the wba) being the absolute worst of the four.
iamasadlittleboy
Oh before someone points out that Matthyse lost to Alexander (and Judah)...lets just state the obvious...he beat Alexander pretty clearly...and could easily have gotten the win against Judah... davemurphy
Had he been born North of the Mexican border instead of South, then he wouldn't be. Let's hope he retires now, it's not befitting a fighter of El Terrible's quality to continue to hold onto a title that was bogus to begin with by defeating what I am sure will be somewhat dubious #1's that Sulamien sets up for him. londoner
There's a reason fighters south of the USA have never won 4 genuine World titles in 4 different weight classes and that is because it is so incredibly difficult to do. Several American fighters have achieved this but the USA is a financial juggernaut and has a talent pool which cannot be matched. This is why they have managed to do so well. Allowing a Mexican fighter to just win a joke belt just so he can be called the first 4 weight World champion below the USA isn't at all respectful to Morales. It makes him look like a joke. It's a shame because he is a genuine 3 weight World champion and one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all time.

See I saw you write this before Ryan...and I was racking my brain thinking you must have been talking crap...and you were :-p Roberto Duran wants a word ;-)...as does Leo Gamez

Although to be fair, Gamez' reigns with at least two of those titles were pretty short and pointless. But then again, most champions' reigns are. I'm not bothered about Gamez, but how could i forget Duran. ?//
RAZZ-MCFC
I actually missed the Cano fight but i heard it was a great fight and Cano was actually a decent test for somebody who was a late replacement? You can't really blame Morales for any of it, he just fights who gets put in front of him. Matthysse would have been a barnstormer and a very dangerous test, just a shame he got injured. From what i heard though Cano put in a good performance, above expectations anyway considering he was an unknown fighter beforehand.
Wheelchair
I wouldn't say it was a great fight Razz. It was ok, but not really worth seeing if you already know the result.
iamasadlittleboy
It was the best fight on the card..and Cano put up a good fight, very gutsy...but Morales really showed his age
davemurphy
I agree with Ryan that the title isn't befitting to a fighter of Morales' quality, and him being a Four Division Champ because of it seems a bit "gimmicky" as a result. On the other hand, I agree with Razz in that Cano was impressive and I hope we get to see him back in a major fight soon, he earned that much.
