londoner
By Pawel Pronishev According to the latest in England, British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves (13-0, 10 KOs) is scheduled to fight former British champion Paul Smith (30-2, 16 KOs) on December 17th at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. To finalize the fight, Smith has to defeat Paul Samuels (21-9-2, 12 KOs) at the Olympia in Liverpool on Saturday night. Smith was previously stopped by Groves' rival James DeGale in nine rounds in 2010 http://www.boxingscene.com/groves-vs-smith-play-liverpool-on-december-17th--43852
Wheelchair
Groves should be aiming higher than this. Especially with DeGale getting a Euro shot.
iamasadlittleboy
Groves shouldn't ever be going back to fighting journeymen like Smith. Whilst I'd love to watch Groves beat the shit out of that fat Scouser, I don't think I can, in all honesty, watch this with out feeling like every round will be like round 10 of Adamek v Vitali. Problem is Smith has all the class of one of my ex's: Loss to Bendall-"I was drained making middleweight" Loss to DeGale-"I was too small for Super Middleweight" Classless, excuse making, irritating wanker. RAZZ-MCFC
He's a bag of wank anyway Smith. No offence to the guy, but he's just a feather fisted punch bag.
Wheelchair
Warren's showing his true colours here. His preferred child DeGale gets the Euro shot, and the poor relation, Grove, gets bugger all. George won't get anywhere with Fwankie guiding him, Warren's new fantasies are all wrapped up in DeGale. markD
We will see how it pans out. Might be more important to get DeGale facing a decent standard of opposition. I thought DeGale beat Groves and will have a better career. I hope Warren does let Groves get on
mofo2
I dont rate Groves that much, Smith has a very good chance of beating him so I would'nt discount his chances!
The Galveston Giant
It's a strange move but not so strange with Warren steering the ship, be interesting to see where their careers go from here. At the moment Degale has the edge again with his euro shot and Groves fights a previous Degale opponent.
dixonsafc
Definitely seems a step back for George Groves, not really going to move him up the rankings at all. Didn't DeGale already have his euro shot lined up before he teamed Groves joined Warren promotions?
