Mayweather is perfectly capable of stopping Ortiz inside the distance, but will he? I have a feeling Floyd will settle for cruising to an easy points win.

But no, Floyd will wipe the floor with him. And I'm agreeing with Razz, in 9 he'll go. Ortiz comes forward and that plays right into Floyd's hands. Just like Hatton did. With Hatton, that was Floyd's first stoppage in about 5 years. Ortiz does the same except he has more power.

Mayweather wins easy IMO. Usual 10 rounds to 2 points win or perhaps late stoppage. I don't think he'd have taken the fight if Ortiz had a great chance to win. As Skav says, Floyd is good at dealing with guys who come forward like Hatton so he could get a late KO.

i think mayweather will win a wide decision probably a shut out, cant really see ortiz winning. that being said, i think its a worthy fight

i know skav says that, but ortiz is a viable challenger given the lack of class at welterweight right now.

honestly, only manny pacquiao or guys above/below mayweathers weight seem to have non-obvious conclusions (though some think the former is obvious!)

The fight is hugely in Floyds favour and I'd expect him to win but I won't write off Ortiz's chances.

 

Floyd hasn't fought much in the last few years and is coming off a layoff and alot of out of the ring problems - which haven't gone away.

 

So Floyd maybe won't be his most focused, plus he's rusty. Also, if Ortiz lands big like Mosley did he has the youth and energy to follow it up. Ortiz seems to be very motivated and he has undoubtedly improved.

 

Ortiz is a decent opponent and I'm sure he'll give it his all.

I see Mayweather making Ortiz look silly just as he did with Marquez - the Swiss Family Mayweather has been in turmoil forever, so it';s not likely to change anything now.
