Wheelchair
With Katsidis record in fights over here, he'll be confident of victory. I think he wins it inside the distance, his attacks will be too quick for Burns. Nice to see they're fighting for a quality version of the title. ?//

RAZZ-MCFC
I'd love to go to this. I make Katsidis heavy favourite.
RAZZ-MCFC
Alex Morrison, the manager of WBO super-featherweight titlist Ricky Burns, has confirmed that his charge will vacate his crown in order to pursue a career at lightweight, with Michael Katsidis penciled in for a November 12th clash for the vacant 135lb belt at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall venue. “We have had confirmation through from Frank Warren’s people that Ricky will now face Katsidis in November. The lightweight title is vacant just now and we are all agreed that this is the best fight for Ricky in the long run,” revealed Morrison when speaking to STV. He added: “As Ricky gets older he is struggling to make the weight for his current division and the next sensible step seemed to be to move up to lightweight. I don’t think he will have any problems in this division as he has always been big for a super-featherweight and he is a hard puncher.” Katsidis previously told me that he was in talks for a rematch with Kevin Mitchell but now seems likely to meet Mitchell’s promotional stablemate. John Murray is also in the lightweight mix; he lost his undefeated tag when falling to Mitchell in eight on July 16th. “Ricky’s always been a big super-featherweight so it will be good for him to come to lightweight,” said Murray as news of Ricky’s move came in. “Me, Kevin and Ricky in the division is good for British boxing.” Burns’ move to lightweight nixes a clash with mandatory challenger Adrian Broner. The American had hoped to lure Burns over for a defence of his 130lb belt but now expects to contest the vacant title once the Scot’s abdication becomes is rubberstamped. ‘Rickster’ is 32-2 (9); the 28-year-old defeated Nicky Cook in a single round on the Murray-Mitchell bill and will now turn his attention to Katsidis. Michael is no stranger to these shores; he beat Graham Earl and Kevin Mitchell on his two previous trips to the UK and will be confident of completing the hat trick. ‘The Great’ holds a 28-4 (23) record and has only ever lost when mixing in world class. Recent reverses to Juan Manuel Marquez and Robert Geurrero knocked the stuffing out of the 31-year-old but he has since registered a KO win over Michael Lozada. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=43728
Joe Ko
I thinking Kevin Mitchell will be in the mix for the winner or loser maybe. Great fight, I think another Burns night in Glasgow, I think he will go down a few times and wins.

He'll get his ass kicked (Burns), if Katsidis sets up a fight with Burns, Burns should atleast have a tune up at his new wait even if its only 6/8 weeks before Katsidis against a bum. He won't stop coming like Martinez did.
The_budweiser
Razz id rather he thought Broner, Broner if a fighter in development and has only had 1 fight 10 rounds rest are 6 round fights, Broner has alot of flaws. Katsidis is experienced and assured fighter. Katsidis to win in rounds 9-12 by KO.

Katsidis has come up short against world class fighters like Marquez, Guerrero and Casamayor, which is fine, but Burns hasn't proved to be on the same level as any of those yet. The only way to keep Katsidis off you is not only to box, but to have some sting in your punches as well, otherwise you better have a damn good chin because he won't stop smothering you! It's not like Mick is a small puncher either, he seems to deck virtually everybody he fights. Both Marquez and Guerrero touched down, although for some reason the Guerrero one wasn't counted. The Galveston Giant
Great move by Burns, not much of an easier fight than Broner if at all. Put's my mind at rest though as it looks like he must have been really struggling with the weight. His going to have to box out his skin to take victory. Nice one, you thinking about going through to the fight, i'm really suprised by his first opponent, at first i thought they were trying to get out of the way of Broner but this fight shows he wants to take it to the next level. The_budweiser
I will try get a press pass, if not me and my mrs will go maybe a friend or two aswell. But i hope if Warren really wants Burns to win has it at a huge arena or Kelvinhall, i was there v Martinez and they atmosphere you would think there was 20K plus it was that loud. Braehead makes more money as it sells 2.5k more but the atmosphere is shit due to it being open. Trying to think of possible venues in Glasgow, not sure how much Buchanan opera house holds or maybe Partick Thistles ground 12/15k ?, possibly his footie clubs Celtic much could he sell there, 20K ? in a 62k stadium. Won't be in a stadium, no chance. Think about when the fight is, it'll be winter! No chance are they going to have an outdoor arena fight in the middle of winter. The Galveston Giant
I think if they promote it right they can bring they numbers in easily, not sure what Warren has planned. Katsidis is on the slide but he's still a very dangerous opponent, if Burns wins then he can secure himself a big fight afterwards, it's going to be good. It's pencilled in for November 12th, they aren't stupid, noway will they put it on in a football stadium in the thick of winter. Trust me on this one, it'll be an indoor arena.
