oxo1947
Posted by JMC617.......to-day Bobby Gunn vs Richard Stewart John L. Sullivan Heavyweight Title 8/7/11 CT - Indian Reservation http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8Q3OSRVK My buddy Bobby fought this weekend at an Indian Reservation in the first 'sanctioned' bare knuckle fight in the last 100 years. It was a short fight and now it looks like the promoters might be in some real hot water for hosting the event. I think anyone who participates in these sanctioned or even non-sanctioned bare knuckle fights will gain much prestige for participating and right now the line is loooong of potential participants from both the MMA world and boxing world. Some of the footage I am receiving is mind numbing I was told I couldn't post it or even speak about who participated but I was given the ok to post this one. I have no time to cross ref the details I have been given regarding this because I am extremely busy at work so check out the details on line. I am sure they are up there. If anyone wants to get the pic of the video right side up and re-post feel free JMC617
iamasadlittleboy
This was mentioned on a few sites (so not totally under the radar)...interesting and TBH I'm not sure I'm actually against it...
londoner
Bare knuckled boxing isn't as interesting as it might sound. Basically, like any "underground" event, it sounds a lot more interesting than it actually is. Go to Youtube and type in "bare knuckle boxing" or whatever to find some fights and be prepared for boredom. I watched one between 2 giants of the BK scene. Even Audley Harrison would have knocked both out in 10 seconds. Anything which is "illegal" interests the human mind like the mafia. It interests our inner adolescence. I'm thinking more interesting from the whole "do gloves really lead to better fights?" If you took...say...Vitali Klitschko and David Haye and took the gloves off them and put them in a ring would the foot be any better/worse than if they met with gloves? Would it last as long? Bobby Gunn is a decent enough type of guy to see some sort of aspect of this, though I don't think it's the legality that makes it interesting. It'd that arguement that gloves makes boxing more dangerous...is it true? Or are gloves really there for the entertainment purpose?...
