SILENT PROTEST OVER FLOYD MAYWEATHER, JR.

All roads lead to Floiyd Mayweather, Jr., indeed, as he proudly claims – to send him a serious message.

Until Mayweather stops dodging Manny Pacquiao, drops his boundless arrogant excuses and heeds the insistent popular clamor for him to fight Pacman, no boxing fan in his right mind would be delighted to watch any Mayweather bout whoever his opponent may be. And nothing can be better for the sport of boxing.

It is reported that tickets are selling slow for the September 17 welterweight contest between Mayweather and Victor Ortiz (compared to previous Mayweather fights) just as it has been foreseen that only Floyd’s fanatical “legions” of fans and few innocent ones will watch the show.

The air is thick and heavy these days, but the silent protest over the “good” boy of boxing gets even thicker and heavier. And if the situation persists, expect boxing, amid thunderous showers and storms, to resurrect sooner than anyone can think or imagine. Do yourself a favor.

On fight night, sweet dreams.

Tickets selling slow for a Mayweather fight? Never(!) lol. They always have to be comped to high rollers to fill the seats. Floyd's more of a PPV fighter than a live gate one.

So, I suppose Floyd or GBP (forgot who said it) were lying when they said the tickets were selling fast when they went on sale. mlol/

Seriously, it's a shame really. The guy is supremely talented and it's quite a tragedy that this sort of thing happens for him. But he has nobody to blame but himself. Unfortunately for him, the vast majority prefer blood n guts tear ups where as he is a technical boxer and breaks down his opponents slowly. Putting smoke screen blocks out there doesn't help either.

Bad for boxing.

Who is Reni M. Valenzuela?...

He's a guy who writes paragraphs like

"Mosley earned my utmost respect. And that gave me more reason to regard him as a great person and a deserving future boxing hall-of-famer. Pacquiao wins but Mosley won!

Some, indeed, are eager to count the stars in the sky by overlooking the fact that the moon is one."

I have emailed him to explain that the moon is not a star but, as the name suggests, a moon.

I think he's a Filipino writer, the moon thing is quite possibly a mis-translation (sun?) though the nationality explains the views...;-)
