Fury to face Firtha

Doing the rounds this morning that he's signed to fight Nicolai Firtha.

 

Bit of a joke fight to be honest.

 

Firtha's claim to fame is lasting the distance against Povetkin.

Its a decent enough late replacement. Lets see if Fury can do what Povetkin couldnt.

I'm guessing Audley would get more interest from the British public, but you can't really rely on him to actually fight. Didn't expect Fury to be out again so soon. If it turns out to be an easy one for him, he can be forgiven imo as he is staying busy and has David Price coming up. (Assuming Price gets through McDermott.)

Fury vs Price is a pretty massive fight, like the Chisora vs Fury one was.

I still give him plenty of respect for the guys he has been fighting.

Firtha isn't a walkover, and lets not forget Fury's still young and still only a handful of fights in.

He's got a lot of developing to do, but still maintaining a very decent level of opponent.

Can't really knock the guy.

I agree. I think Fury has been fighting a good level of opposition. He's only 23 and has had 15 fights. A lot of guys don't even start fighting challenging fights until they're past 20 or so fights. I think Firtha is a decent opponent at this stage.
