The_budweiser
Another big weekend and another big win for Jermall Charlo. Charlo (31-0, 22 KOs) remained undefeated after a back and forth fight against top contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko. With the win, which aired on SHOWTIME pay preview, Charlo continues to rise up boxing’s pound for pound landscape. https://www.ringnews24.com/2020/10/02/how-would-jermall-charlo-do-vs-gennady-golovkin/
Robbo
GGG is old and inactive. Charlo beats him.
LondonRingRules
--- GGG be suffocating Ms Charlene like a wet blanket and prob force a corner stoppage after a couple of KDs. Reports of his death are nonfans wanting him to step aside so their candies can take over.
selij
Golovcan at 38 marks up too easily now and is inactive for a year. Mall beats him easily and would also be far too strong for him. Golovcan prob has one last hurra' left in him if (IF) it can be made in a shit-or-bust affair with Clenelo; which is looking more and more unlikely by the week. Ton
Gotta imagine Golovkin isn't the relentless machine of 3,4,5 years ago unfortunately. His standing seems to have dropped quite a lot lately.
selij
The unknown boxrec ranking system has GGG 4th in their current (yes, current) 'Active' P4P list ! Above Wilder, AJ, Crawford, Loma and Pacroid. Since losing to Clenelo just over 2 years ago, GGG has fought a can named Rolls, and Stinkychenko, over 1 year ago.. Which means their rankings cannot be based on any relevant statistics or facts, just some staff member's personal 'fave boxers'.
LondonRingRules
--- Bit cynical there Selj. GGG may have lost some luster, but at Ring he's p4p 7 inline with boxrec who seldom overlap in close ratings. The cans you talk of are the Charlenes who only recently took on fringe contender TBAs. Their 1st PPV netted 100k buys, so they ain't toppling nobody in popularity. Strictly region, not international.
Ledhed1
The more months that go by, the older and less relevant GGG gets. Jermall may be the one who could take him out. Canelo probably knows GGG too well - and vice-versa - to go for a stoppage but the third fight - if it happens - again goes Canelo's way.
LondonRingRules
--- Big Drama turning into Big Mystery as to why Golovkin has had nary a fight of significance since his Canelo derailment? Understand writing off the Year of the Great Corona Virus Panic of 2020, but still...
javier_83
by age and activity Charlo should win, but this fight would be better 5 years ago..
