DAVID PRICE will attempt to get his pro career back on track by fighting TWICE in seven days.

The Olympic bronze medallist has boxed just once since joining the paid ranks after the Beijing Games.

He is desperate to move up the rankings as quickly as possible but new promoter Frank Maloney believes the Liverpudlian heavyweight could be playing catch up for some time to come.

Maloney said: "David is still a baby and it could be four years before we see the best of him at world level.

"Over the next 12 months he will learn his trade in a series of fights around Britain and at his gym in Liverpool where there is an impressive set-up.

"In about a year when he has had 10 or so fights we will sit down and start making real ambitious plans to get him some work in America to get his name known even more."

Price, 26, turned to Maloney after parting company with David Haye's Hayemaker promotions.

He will make his debut under the Maloney banner in Sunderland on October 16, before stepping into the ring in Bolton a week later.
