The_budweiser
Amir Khan reveals five championship level fighters on his radar It’s been over a year-and-a-half since we last saw former world champion Amir Khan inside of a boxing ring. In May of 2016, Khan was brutally stopped by Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in the sixth round of their pay per view match from the T-Mobile Arena. Khan, regardless of whether he is active or not, is one of the biggest draws in the sport and he just recently made headlines by announcing that he will be returning in 2018 with promoter Eddie Hearn guiding his career. Ton
Re: Amir Khan lists 5 boxers he wants to fight Kell Brook was on the TalkSport boxing show the other night and said that fight is more possible than ever now that Amir has signed under Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Promotions. Interestingly he also said this may very well be his final year in the sport. Which sounded to me a lot like a concession that he's ready to cash out. Oddly I don't see how Khan still has any pull or appeal. He is a speedy and tricky fighter so poses something of a risk for those fighters all looking to make a mark on the division, but he is of course very beatable by those who will get to that top bracket. Of that list the top 3 beta him easily, Manny is retired and so that just leaves Brook. Someone mentioned Broner as a possible opponent for Khan, and that's a fight I'd like to see! I think Khan is really on his way out, as Brook much sees himself. But I don't think Khan would see it that way. He still has these delusions of grandeur that he is a top name in the welterweight-middleweight scene and is no doubt delusional about how far he thinks he can go. Hopefully these two do face off at somepoint later this year though. Brook first faces Rabchenko, which is a decent fight for his return after back to back loses. Khan is scheduled to fight in April against an as yet unnamed fighter, but you wouldn't expect any big name as he is fighting for the first time in nearly 2 years.
