Petch Chitpattana ------------------------------------------ The UK and Northern Ireland have 12 World title holders (maybe more in this interim crazy World). Above are recent rankings for each boxers title. I'd assume all will have to make a mandatory defence in 2016. Quigg and Frampton have a unification fight on 27-02-2015 in Manchester. Eric Hunter (21-3, 11 KOs) vs Jonathan Victor Barros (40-4-1, 22 KOs), set for January 16th, in an IBF Final Eliminator for Lee Selby belt. Tyson Fury looks to be having a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko. Which of the Brit's will still have their title at the end of 2016 and who is likely to be dethroned? Bickle85
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? I see Fury, DeGale, Brook and Frampton keeping their titles. Saunders as well if he doesn't decide to unify.
The_budweiser
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? It will be interesting to revisit this thread at the end of the year. I think Fury will lose his title in the Klitschko rematch. Good chance Kell Brook could loose his title if he fights Khan. Billy Joe Saunders, Liam Smith, Terry Flanagan, Anthony Crolla - I think they will be somewhat protected and have their belts at the end of the year. James DeGale may loose his title as he is testing himself at a good level and will hopefully continue to go after bigger fights. It will be Interesting to see if any of the upcoming stars can get their hands on a world title.
chaconfan
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? If Klitschko actually tries in the rematch, I think he will win. I think Fury will be too confident and when he gets in there with a highly motivated, hard punching, machine, it will be too much for him. Don't really follow U.K boxers that much, so it is impossible to comment on the others. Am more interested in Americans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans
Zute
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? I think Kell Brook will, I think Thurman would beat him, but I do not see that fight happening, I would favor Brook against just about anyone else at
WelshDevilRob
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? Terry Flanagan and Lee Selby will still be there at the end of the Year. Hard to tell with DeGale and Brook, as not sure who they will face. Frampton beats Quigg and then possibly moves up a weight. boxeador
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? It´s hard to say, because nobody knows who will be their opponents, but i don´t see Fury winning Klitschko another time. Kell Brook is so good, but i think Thurman would beat him. And, if Saunders gets in the ring with GGG, well... you know:nono: .

I agree on all points, though my knowledge of British boxing is limited. - But I don't think Liam Smith needs protecting to keep his belt. That boy looks really good. Not just skills. His power seems much better than his record would indicate. Likely he's improved his punching technique in the last 2 years. He could possibly go all the way, IMO, and legitimately. - Especially considering that Canelo will surely have to move up soon. WelshDevilRob
Re: Which of the UK's World champions will hold onto their title? Scott Quigg lost his while Anthony Joshua is now IBF heavyweight champ. I think Anthony Crolla is most at risk as Ismael Barroso really is a handful with the type of power to put his lights out.
