Cableaddict
It looks like the WBC is allowing the Slamma' from Alabama to have yet another voluntary, before facing his mandatory challenger Povetkin. This makes sense, really, since Povetkin has a bout scheduled for November (the WBC should have stopped that from happening) and since Wilder has said many times that he wants to fight 5-6 times a year. God blessim', & lord knows he needs the experience. I just hope he fights someone with a pulse this time. Someone who will actually prepare him for the powerful, aggressive infighter that is Sasha Povetkin. So, who would you pick, if you were Jay Deas and wanted an actual, experience-giving challenge? -------------------------------- Cabbies lined up, hopeful for a chance to be picked as Wilder's next opponent: Edited October 7, 2015 by Cableaddict
repsac
Re: Wilder to have another voluntary defense. Give Bryant Jennings a shot. If he beats Jennings by knockout, he can flaunt that in Wlad's face. If he wins a decision, he can just shrug and say "Jennings is a tough fighter, that went 12 with Wlad." Cableaddict
Re: Wilder to have another voluntary defense. Repsac, I really like this idea! Plus, Jennings is exactly the right kind of fighter to prepare Wilder for Povetkin. (yet not overly dangerous) Plus, it would cement the idea that Wilder is absolutely the best American heavyweight. Gerald
Re: Wilder to have another voluntary defense. Got a feeling Wilder is going to lobby for an exception from Povetkin in order to right a unification with Klitschko/Fury in the new year. The team around him must know the danger Povetkin poses

LondonRingRules
Re: Wilder to have another voluntary defense. --- WBC will give Bambi an exemption if he mans up to Klitschko/Fury winner, but team Haymon is so cowardly that all becomes moot until they pic from their hundreds of TBAs they keep on their Rolodex. Ton
Re: Wilder to have another voluntary defense. One of the big stiff idiot journeyman like Kevin Johnson or Tony Thompson (if they are still in the game?), or if he wants some UK recognition Derek Chisora. ANy of those realistic?? WelshDevilRob
Re: Wilder to have another voluntary defense. I think it will likely be one of the Heavyweights who fought on the undercard of Wilder vs Duhaupas. So, either Charles Martin, Dominic Breazeale or Andrzej Wawrzyk.
