...But, he'll really be the leading attraction for the many boxing fans that have been left long waiting to see him land on a great platform in the US (and, presumably, in the UK as well).

Roman Gonzalez will face Edgar Sosa. Sosa has been around for quite a while but hasn't won a significant bout in almost two years. If he still brings what he had against Giovani Segura to the table, it will be entertaining. If nothing else, one would hope this fight entices HBO to give the 112-lbers their shot.

What do you think? Can Roman develop in to a boxing star? He's already well and popular in Nicaragua, and certainly has a fan base in Japan after some of the displays he put on there. Without moving up in weight, can he become a big ticket seller in America? Can he sell out a show without the help of Golovkin, or another popular fighter in a higher weight? He's already defeated most top Flyweights, and people in the United States or throughout Europe for that matter aren't very familiar with best Flyweights. What can they even build towards with Gonzalez?

It will be interesting to see. But, it would take some serious "jitters" on the 27-year-old's part for him to lose in his HBO debut at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

He ought to be a star already and he should be an easy sell because he's like a miniature version of Golovkin but sets a high pace with it.

Always nice to see him fight, but worthy opponents aren't exactly running towards him.

Gonzales might well be the best P4p fighter alive right now.

However, I honestly don't think any fighter below WW will ever capture the imagination of the casual American (over-fed, self-centered, myopic) "fan."

At the same time, America is becoming increasingly less important regarding boxing revenue, so who knows what the future might bring? In a few years HBO and Showtime might not even matter much.

Well ....

Great news, Sosa will be easy fodder for the almighty Nicaraguan. The clear bout to build for is either Gonzalez Vs Naoya or Gonzalez Vs Estrada II.

I have to disagree on the idea of American fans not caring about fighters lower than WW, they are simple NOT GIVEN THE FECKING CHANCE! Give fight fans fights with Gonzalez, Kogawa, Muranaka, Eto, Inoue, Sriskaet, Cuadras, Takayama, Tete, the Arroyo twins, Rodriguez Jr, Cuello and fans will care. The fans may take a little longer to accept them but watching the best fight the best and watching a lot of action are 2 things fight fans can enjoy, sadly these guys have been hidden for that long that American fans have been missing out.

Who'd have thought 20 years ago that fight fans would be excited as hell about watching a Filipino, a Russian and a Kazakh? Who'd have thought that Macau would become an Asian hub?

It's an opportunity to also show that Zou and Amnat aren't the typical Flyweights. The typical Flyweight's are EXCITING and CHEAP. Give fans bang for their buck and they will come back.

--- Morales and Barrera were quite popular with US fans and then there's Manny.

Marquez less so which is way nobody of consequence wanted to know him back then in spite of being a Vegas fighter. Gonzo competed in two shallow divisions and only just know moved to fly where he should get more attention. At this point he's on par with Ivan Calderon who was more impressive in a P4P sense being much smaller with more title defenses while remaining undefeated in spite of having almost zero power. Gonzo could never be P4P elite unless he clears out fly and then bantam though the Gimpy Chuckles doing the Ring ratings has him 4th over Rigo who has distinguished his 5th place rating with a set of where'd they pick up these guys at fights.

Manny in his 12th year as P4P with 6 total fights against current P4Pers underneath Floydy in his 4th consecutive year with only a single fight against current list, and that many moons back when he didn't even bother to make weight when he forced Marquez up 2 divisions. Ring P4P rankings just ain't what they used to be, so stay cool.
