selij
Re: General Boxing (worth mentioning, not thread worthy) Cruiserweight contenders Mairis Briedis and Marco Huck will square off for a vacant interim world title on April 1 at Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany, Huck Sports Promotion announced on Thursday. The WBC made the interim belt available to its leading contenders because its world titleholder, England's Tony Bellew, is moving up to heavyweight for a huge-money showdown with countryman and former heavyweight and cruiserweight world titleholder David Haye on March 4 at the O2 Arena in London. The WBC granted Bellew's request to take the fight with Haye rather than face mandatory challenger Breidis next. After Bellew-Haye, Bellew must decide if he will remain at heavyweight or return to cruiserweight. If he returns to the 200-pound cruiserweight division he will be obligated to next face the Briedis-Huck winner. If Bellew remains at heavyweight, the Briedis-Huck winner will become the full titleholder.

The_budweiser
Ted Bami allegedly stole 10k - IFL video removed I started watching the video and never got to the end as something came up. Did anyone else watch the video? Thoughts? ------ Taken from another forum, by skelly. It's been taken down by IFL (presume for legal reasons) But what did people make of Isaac claiming that his uncle/trainer Ted Bami stole 10k from his purse Apparently he only found out after his mum looked into it and ended up asking Matchroom for the full receipt Also... The Lawrence Okolie social media coverage where Ted Bami replies clearly showing no remorse is very strange (But good to see Okolie supporting Issac)

selij
Re: General Boxing (worth mentioning, not thread worthy) Carlos Cuadras Suspended By WBC For Refusing Doping Test By Miguel Rivera According to World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Sulaiman, his organization maintains zero tolerance for banned substances. Sulaiman announced that the WBC has suspended former world champion Carlos Cuadras of Mexico, because he violated the rules of his last fight by refusing an anti-doping test in connection with the WBC's Clean Boxing Program. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) mandates that any fighter who refuses to take a drug test is in violation of their rules. He says Cuadras has been removed from all of their world rankings. "Carlos Cuadras is suspended for faults to the banned substances protocol, he is out of the world classifications and this topic is being addressed," explained Sulaiman. He added that "discipline must exist in boxing, the fighter must have the highest priority of a clean sport, it is something that we will take to the maximum with important efforts." The last few months have not been easy for Cuadras, who on February 24, in Los Angeles, California, lost an upset decision to comebacking Puerto Rican contender McWilliams Arroyo, in a bout for the silver title of the WBC. Korobov was really a top prospect until the loss against Lee. He still was winning this one fairly comfortably and he beat Uzcategui in a good fight. He has failed to impress since, mostly because of his lack of punch power. Maybe he can be somehow competitive against Charlo, though? Skills are still there, but suspicious chin may be an issue against hard hitting American.

Korobov was due to fight an 8 round match against Juan De Angel at super-middleweight on the undercard of the PBC on FOX event in an off-air fight. Korobov will need to lose an extra 8 pounds to get down from 168 to 160 by Friday’s weigh-in. Could be an issue. Korobov also hasnt fought since March 24 (Batista) and didnt fight at all in 2017. Could be a very big 'ask' to get anywhere near Charlo, altho has the makings of a better fight than what would have been vs Monroe Jr. which would have been a
selij
Re: General Boxing (worth mentioning, not thread worthy) The backdrop is no vada transparancy, no values released It was an 'initial' piss-test so it doesnt test for actual gear used just the levels of epitestosterone:testosterone. And at an allowable 6:1 (normal human very approx 1:1) - if he's 6:1 > the boy sure is guilty of something involving lab-produced synthetic derivatives..... And thru my own bodybuilding experiences I know this alone costs £300 + admin costs. So to waste a further £1500+ on a chromatography test just to tell him what he was injecting himself with is fruitless, unless he's forgotten? Or bought some unlabelled vials ? Kite1345
Re: General Boxing (worth mentioning, not thread worthy) I tuned in to the VIP Boxing Promotions stream on Youtube just in time to watch Matthew Rennie vs Ben Fields. I don't know if anyone else watched it, but it was one of the worst decisions I've seen in some time. Fields had Rennie in trouble on multiple occasions and Rennie didn't really offer much resistance, but the fight was still judged to be a draw. Fields seemed rightfully pissed off. I'd want to see a rematch.
